In simpler terms, ‘YouTuber’ Arab’ and his companions potentially faced legal consequences as they paid a resident to facilitate an unauthorized entry for them into the Great Wall of China.
The YouTube personality ‘Arab’ with more than 1.89 million subscribers has gained fame due to his adventurous travel videos. He became particularly well-known after being abducted by Haitian gangs and held for a ransom of $600,000 in the year 2024.
In his recent global escapade, this social media personality, along with his friends, documented their travels across China. His goal was to challenge limitations in a communist country by secretly exploring a restricted area of the Great Wall, which is typically off-limits.
Spanning over two thousand years in construction, with the earliest segments dating back to approximately 770-476 BCE, the Great Wall is an iconic structure that draws both international and domestic visitors. However, certain parts of this historic monument have deteriorated significantly and are now protected by the Chinese government for the sake of preservation and safety.

YouTuber sneaks into Great Wall by bribing guard
Arab was resolute about venturing into one of the restricted zones, disregarding the potential dangers – he was prepared to pay a sum to gain access, a tactic that ultimately proved successful for him.
Instead of paying the entrance fee, one of his companions bribed a security guard with approximately 200 US dollars, claiming they were skilled mountaineers who wouldn’t create any issues. The guard agreed to overlook their entry based on this tale.

I had to dust off all my Mandarin, man,” I shared, describing our recent chat. “He countered with, ‘This dude scaled Mount Everest, and I conquered Kilimanjaro. These guys are globetrotting experts. We’re in for a long haul, nothing’s going to go wrong, we won’t get hurt. Check out these shoes. We’ve been to the loftiest peaks.’ He just nodded, ‘Got it, got it.’
“I purposefully went and got fresh hundreds that you can’t deny,” Arab boasted.
After some effort, the team ultimately scaled the ancient wall and appreciated the scenic vista it offered. Along the way, they encountered fellow hikers and even shared a drink or two with them.

Instead of defacing the Great Wall, which could lead to legal penalties like fines or imprisonment, entering restricted zones of the monument may result in a ban on buying tickets for future visits not only to the Great Wall itself but also other historical sites.
While one travel vlogger successfully pulled off an unauthorized trip, another content creator faced the consequences. Indian officials apprehended American YouTuber Mykhailo Polyakov upon landing on North Sentinel Island, a region housing unreachable tribes that are not in contact with the outside world.
