Oblivion Remastered players break out of bounds to explore everywhere from Skyrim to the rumored setting of The Elder Scrolls 6

If you’ve been immersed in The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered, you might have observed that the map reveals various regions of Tamriel. Adjacent to Cyrodiil are Hammerfell, Elsweyr, Valenwood, Morrowind, Black Marsh, and Skyrim. Interestingly, it’s possible to traverse to many of these areas.

As a gamer, I ventured into Valenwood myself, only to discover, as IGN reported, it’s quite sparse. Here’s my take on it: “I trekked alongside the Strid River from Skingrad and found an unexpected entry point into Valenwood close to Kvatch. I delved a bit further and was taken aback to find that, while not intricately detailed, the entire expanse of the map seems to be present.

As an ardent follower, I post a video chronicling our dramatic exit from the Kvatch refugee camp, swiftly making a beeline towards a river flowing southward. With a daring leap, we skim across the water’s surface and then ascend a towering cliff, ultimately finding ourselves in the verdant expanse of Valenwood – the abode of the Bosmer, or Wood Elves as they are commonly known. The landscape is primarily a patchwork of rolling hills and sparse vegetation, yet if you look closely enough, the Summerset Isles can be spotted on the distant western horizon.

They too post snapshots of Hammerfell, believed to be where the Redguards dwell and potentially the location for The Elder Scrolls 6. It appears expansive, larger than Valenwood or Elsweyr. The terrain extends past visual range, leaving us wondering just how vast it truly is.

Despite other players successfully reaching Skyrim, there is a glitch where one might inadvertently pass through the map and tragically drown in an unseen body of water.

This remains impressive since you can catch a glimpse of the Throat of the World – the highest peak across Tamriel, and dwelling place of the Greybeards – from the boundary between Skyrim and Cyrodil. Perhaps it was this breathtaking sight that the Dragonborn found themselves drawn to when they were apprehended for unlawfully crossing the border.

Leaving Cyrodiil means you won’t be able to restore any saves made outside of it. So, remember to save your progress regularly if you plan on venturing beyond its borders.

It’s good to know the remaster is just as janky as the original.
