‘Squid Game 2’ Star Kang Ha-neul’s ‘Yadang: the Snitch’ Tops Korean Box Office Again as ‘A Minecraft Movie’ Opens in Second

As a film enthusiast, I’m thrilled to report that the South Korean crime thriller “Yadang: The Snitch” held onto its reign at the box office for another week, raking in approximately $3.4 million and commanding an impressive 49.5% share of the market.

The movie that premiered on April 16th went on to sell an additional 521,459 tickets, thereby increasing its overall earnings to $10.7 million after selling 1.6 million tickets, as reported by Kobis, a tracking service run by the Korean Film Council.

Titled “Yadang: The Informer,” directed by Hwang Byeng-Gug, this upcoming movie stars Squid Game 2’s Kang Ha-neul. Produced by the team behind blockbusters like “12:12 The Day” and “Inside Men,” it tells the story of a professional informant known as a “yadang.” This individual secretly supplies information on the drug world to prosecutors and law enforcement. However, when a drug raid at an elite party uncovers a dangerous conspiracy, the yadang must navigate treacherous waters to stay alive. The film features Kang alongside “Exhuma” star Yoo Hai-jin and “The World of the Married” actor Park Hae-joon.
