The creative sales company, The Playmaker, unveiled a teaser for the techno music-centered drama titled “Rave On.” Penned by Nikias Chryssos and Viktor Jakovleski, this production will be showcased at the Cannes Film Market on May 15th.

The movie delves into Berlin’s vibrant nightlife, particularly its club scene. It chronicles the journey of a musician throughout one thrilling night at a renowned techno club, which eventually transforms into an epic rave adventure. Filmed during actual parties in authentic techno venues, “Rave On” promises a unique cinematic experience that combines a fictional storyline with a raw documentary style and captivating visuals, as stated.

The movie’s techno tunes are a blend of established club hits, along with songs specifically produced for the film by Ed Davenport and John Gürtler (“System Crasher”), as well as other techno musicians based in Berlin.

The movie boasts Aaron Altaras (known for “The Zweiflers”) and Clemens Schick (recognized from “Dogman,” “Andor,” and “Das Boot”) as its leading actors, while also showcasing renowned DJ Hieroglyphic Being from Chicago and emerging talent Lucia Lu.

The movie titled ‘Rave On’ was created in Germany by Andro Steinborn, who also produced the American remake of ‘Funny Games’. This production is a joint effort between Telos Pictures and Hessischer Rundfunk/ARTE. It has backing from BKM, HessenFilm, and DFFF. German distributor Weltkino will bring ‘Rave On’ to German theaters on July 31.

Steinborn stated: “Techno music is one of Germany’s most significant cultural contributions, and ‘Rave On’ mirrors this raw, genuine essence. It’s a unique, captivating cinematic ride that authentically portrays this culture on the big screen.

As a movie critic, I’m thrilled to share that ‘Rave On’, under the guidance of Moritz Hemminger, The Playmaker’s head of sales and acquisitions, is more than just a film – it’s an ardent ode to techno music and the pulsating energy of Berlin’s nightlife.
