Approaching a year since the premiere of Marvel’s “Avengers: Doomsday,” Wyatt Russell has disclosed that the actors are required to keep incredibly secretive about the movie’s major plot points.
In simpler terms, Russell explained to ComicBook that “Media training for ‘Doomsday’ is like someone putting a knife to your throat and warning, ‘Say anything, and it’s all over.'” Before the premiere of “Doomsday,” fans of Marvel can see Russell’s portrayal of John Walker in “Thunderbolts,” set to hit theaters on May 2nd.
David Harbour, who portrays Red Guardian in “Thunderbolts”, has experienced his fair share of near misses too. As he put it, “It’s the scariest stunt you can imagine, sitting through a series of interviews where they ask, ‘So we heard you’re in ‘Doomsday’?
Despite recent Marvel movies such as “Captain America: New World Order” and “The Marvels” receiving mixed reviews both critically and financially, the early responses for “Thunderbolts” have been generally positive. Early feedback describes this superhero blockbuster as a “daring exploration of trauma, healing, and redemption.” Florence Pugh, who made her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in “Black Widow,” has also garnered favorable comments for her leading role in the film.
Following a series of Marvel movies that didn’t quite meet expectations, the promotional strategy for “Thunderbolts” has been centered around its team of creators who have previously worked on films produced by A24, such as director Jake Schreier, writer Lee Sung Jin, and screenwriter Joanna Calo from the series “Beef.” Moreover, the trailer spotlights Florence Pugh’s powerful acting in Ari Aster’s “Midsommar,” which is another A24 production.
In July, “The Fantastic Four: First Footsteps” is scheduled for release, followed by the upcoming Avengers films “Doomsday” slated for May 1, 2026 and “Secret Wars” on May 7, 2027.
Or,
Coming up in July, we have “The Fantastic Four: First Steps”. After that, expect the Avengers movies “Doomsday” (May 1, 2026) and “Secret Wars” (May 7, 2027).
