Tragically, Jiggly Caliente, a beloved star on “RuPaul’s Drag Race” and judge for “Drag Race: Philippines,” has passed away at the age of 44. She had been battling complications from a severe infection, which ultimately led to her undergoing surgery and the loss of most of her right leg. Our thoughts are with her family and friends during this difficult time.
The news was officially announced by Bianca Castro-Arabejo’s family, who posted an update about it on their Instagram page. They wrote, “We sadly inform you that Bianca Castro-Arabejo, best known as Jiggly Caliente, has passed away. The family of Bianca Castro-Arabejo (also known as Jiggly Caliente) confirmed the news through an Instagram post. They wrote, “It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Bianca Castro-Arabejo on April 27, 2025, at 4:42 am. She was surrounded by her family and close friends during her peaceful departure.
The family’s declaration continued, “Jiggly Caliente, a radiant figure in both entertainment and activism, was admired for her contagious enthusiasm, sharp humor, and unyielding sincerity. She impacted countless lives through her creative work, advocacy efforts, and the heartfelt bond she cultivated with fans worldwide. Her legacy is one of love, bravery, and brightness. She will be profoundly missed, dearly loved, and everlastingly remembered.
In Season 4 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” Caliente was a contestant, finishing in the eighth position. Later, she came back to compete in All Stars 6, ending up in 12th place. The crowd-adored competitor captivated audiences with her skill, wit, and electrifying dance routines.
In the year 2022, it became known that she served as a judge on “Drag Race Philippines.” Over three seasons of this series, Caliente sat on the judging panel.
Originally hailing from San Pedro, Philippines, Caliente later relocated to the United States. Her stage persona, fittingly, took inspiration from the Pokémon character, Jigglypuff, and she publicly acknowledged her identity as a transgender woman in 2016.
Apart from that, she has been featured in multiple television series. Notably, she had recurring roles on FX’s “Pose,” “Search Party,” and “Saturday Night Live.
Apart from her TV and drag performances, Caliente unveiled her first album titled “T.H.O.T. Process” in 2018. This hip-hop album included collaborations with RuPaul, Sharon Needles, Peppermint, Alaska, Ginger Minj, Phi Phi O’Hara and Manila Luzon.
