In the realm of The Elder Scrolls, Skooma is a potent narcotic derived from Moon Sugar. It’s notorious for its strong effects and is often associated with illicit activities due to its illegal status in many of the game series.
In the game titled “Oblivion Remastered“, the drug known as Skooma offers substantial physical advantages, but at the expense of other attributes. It’s not only used in certain quests like “The Lonely Wanderer”, but you can also use a special potion to experience these effects on a temporary basis. This guide will detail the effects of Skooma when ingested and provide suggestions for locations where you can acquire more Skooma within “Oblivion Remastered“.
Oblivion Remastered Skooma Effects
What Happens If You Drink Skooma?
In the remastered edition of “Oblivion,” the Skooma’s impact remains consistent with its 2006 counterpart within “Oblivion.” Notably, Skooma is an illicit substance in “Oblivion Remastered.” If a Guard apprehends you, they will seize any Skooma found in your possession.
In the game Oblivion Remastered, consuming Skooma doesn’t allow you to stack its effects for flight like in Morrowind or instantly restore Stamina as seen in Skyrim. Instead, it offers extraordinary Strength and Speed, but at the expense of your Agility and Intelligence.
- Drain Agility on Self: 60 points
- Damage Intelligence on Self: 2 points
- Fortify Strength on Self: 60 points
- Fortify Speed on Self: 60 points
Following the consumption of Skooma in Oblivion Remastered, characters will experience an abrupt boost in speed and increased potency when wielding melee weapons. However, this comes at a cost as a substantial portion of their Agility and Intelligence Attributes will diminish, potentially limiting effectiveness in ranged combat, stealth maneuvers, and magic-based playstyles.
Although Skooma is infamous for its extreme addictiveness, as evident from the story of Faelian in “The Lonely Wanderer” Dark Brotherhood quest, users in the game Oblivion Remastered do not experience addiction to this substance.
Where To Find Skooma In Oblivion Remastered

In the game ‘Oblivion Remastered’, there are two methods to acquire Skooma: either buy it from a Skooma dealer, or discover it out in the open world. However, since Skooma is considered illicit, Guards will always seize it from your possessions regardless of whether it’s marked as stolen or not.
In simpler terms, if you stumble upon some Skooma and there’s no one else around, technically taking it without permission isn’t a huge issue as long as you don’t get caught. However, for those who prefer to play it safe, seek out a Skooma vendor in the open world, of which there are two available options.
Oblivion Remastered Skooma Locations
In the revamped version of “Obliivon,” you’ll find Skooma resembling a compact, violet-hued flask, typically shorter than other potions found within the game. Be sure to keep an eye out for these diminutive violet flasks in open spaces and secret locations (such as basements), or concealed within locked chests scattered throughout homes, shops, dungeons, and other hidden areas.
In the game “Oblivion Remastered”, there are numerous Skooma spots, however, disappointingly, none of these locations regenerate. After you discover a Skooma location and gather it, it will never resurface again, not even if it was hidden within a container.
As an enthusiastic gamer, I found myself stumbling upon these five intriguing Skooma hideouts quite effortlessly during the initial stages of my adventure. Often, they were unveiled through significant questlines or faction missions that guided me towards their secret spots.
- Lorkmir’s House, in the Elven Gardens district of the Imperial City. There are two bottles of Skooma on the table in the main room. Follow the Dark Brotherhood questline to be led here during “The Lonely Wanderer” contract.
- The Skooma Den, next to the chapel in Bravil. You can find multiple bottles of Skooma throughout the den and pickpocket the Skooma addicts to steal their Skooma.
- Roland Jenseric’s Basement, in Roland Jenseric’s house east of the Imperial City. Follow the “Order of the Virtuous Blood” quest to be led here, then sneak into the basement to find two Skooma bottles.
- Robber’s Glen Cave, a dungeon to the northwest of Bravil. This area contains a chest with three Skooma in it. You will be led here as part of the Fighter’s Guild questline.
- Southwest Imperial Watch Tower, in the Imperial City. Sneak into the Watch Tower, then go down into the basement to find two Skooma on a table. You will be led here during the first special project for the Thieves Guild.
Where To Buy Skooma In Oblivion Remastered

In Oblivion Remastered, you have the option of purchasing Skooma instead of resorting to house burglaries, pickpocketing, or dungeon exploration. You’ll find two Skooma vendors in Oblivion Remastered: Nordinor and Shady Sam.
- Nordinor can be found next to the Silverhome on the Water Inn in Bravil, next to the northern gate. Look in the alley after midnight to purchase Skooma.
- Shady Sam can be found just next to Chestnut Handy Stables on the west side of the Imperial City standing next to the city walls. Shady Sam only appears during the day.
Remember, just because you buy Skooma from a dealer doesn’t make it legal. It’s still classified as an illicit drug and will be seized together with any suspected stolen items during arrest.
