I tip my hat to Todd Howard and the Elder Scrolls crew at Bethesda Game Studios for discovering an innovative approach to launching Skyrim once more, in a sense.

Kudos, Todd. You’ve done it again, you creative genius.

Indeed, it seems accurate; based on numerous posts across Reddit and Twitter, one can spot Tamriel’s tallest mountain in Oblivion Remastered, but only after a challenging trek. To achieve this viewpoint, it seems you must journey to the most northerly part of Cyrodiil, and in the distance, what looks unmistakably like the Throat of the World can be discerned.

Without getting too playful, let me say this is a clever touch linking Cyrodiil and Skyrim, creating a sense that Tamriel is one vast, interwoven realm. However, for those who play Elder Scrolls Online, it’s worth mentioning that the opportunity to traverse not just Cyrodiil but also Skyrim, and indeed much more of Tamriel, exists within a single expansive game.

Apart from the large mountain, Oblivion Remastered also took elements from The Elder Scrolls 5. Interestingly, it includes a spell similar to Skyrim’s, which serves as a kind of “magical navigational guide” leading players to quests and objectives.
