CD Projekt Red’s highly anticipated game, Cyberpunk 2077, is set to debut on the Nintendo Switch 2 at its launch in June, and we’ve just received additional information from the game’s engineer, Tim Green.
Initially, when informed about Switch 2, Green stated that the team was certain right away they wished to introduce Cyberpunk 2077 on this console. The project is being developed by a specialized team within CDPR, he explained further, mentioning that Nintendo personnel also contributed during the development process whenever technical difficulties or problems surfaced.
Green stated that while development did encounter hurdles, as is common in any development phase, we’ve been strategic in making choices to preserve the game’s original concept. Fortunately, we didn’t have to struggle with memory constraints, and the rapid data storage speed has eased some initial streaming issues. This flexibility enabled us to concentrate on enhancing other areas, and we’re extremely satisfied with the outcome.

In the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 for Switch 2, they’ll be incorporating mouse-like controls by having players set a Joy-Con on a surface, mimicking computer mouse usage. The intention behind this is to make it as seamless as possible, creating an experience that closely resembles using a personal computer.
In simpler terms, when Cyberpunk 2077 for Switch 2 arrives as the Ultimate Edition, it will come packed with the main game, all previous updates, and an additional expansion called Phantom Liberty that is set to release in 2023. The digital size of the game is approximately 64 GB, and unlike some other physical editions, the game itself will be included directly on the cartridge.
