Unlike the original Oblivion where improving Minor Skills didn’t affect your overall character level, and attribute choices were determined by skills honed within a specific level range, in this remastered version, both factors seem to contribute to your character development.
In the remastered version of “Oblivion Remastered”, enhancing Minor Skills will grant a slight experience points (XP) towards your character’s level. This adjustment means that you no longer have to select Athletics or Acrobatics as Major Skills in order to earn level XP while upgrading these skills.
To quickly advance in the game “Oblivion Remastered“, just make sure Run is always activated and use Sprint when you have enough stamina to boost Athletics naturally, and jump frequently during travel to increase Acrobatics naturally as well.
If Alchemy isn’t one of your main proficiencies, you can swiftly boost this skill by blending ingredients collected from various parts of the world to create random concoctions, such as potions or poisons. However, you won’t be able to tell if a book will award a Skill Point just by looking at it, so make sure to consult a list of all Skill Books in Oblivion before diving into the local Mage’s Guild library shelves.
It’s not very efficient to use these Skill Points at lower levels because improving skills is quite straightforward at that stage. However, as you progress into the mid to late game in Oblivion Remastered, it becomes challenging to level up quickly due to the increased amount of experience needed to enhance skills.
It’s best to wait until your character is between levels 20 and 25 before you begin reading Skill Books. This way, you can efficiently boost your advanced Skills without wasting time, and you’ll earn XP equivalent to if you had trained or improved the Skill manually.
