A pair about to wed in Pittsburgh opted for an unexpected approach to seal their union: They exchanged their promises amidst the chaos of a mosh pit during a heavy metal concert.
It’s not surprising nowadays for couples to come up with creative ideas for their weddings, always seeking ways to add a unique touch. From having a penguin as the ringbearer to inviting Overwatch voice actors to officiate, they go the extra mile to make their wedding day memorable and distinctive.
But instead of opting for a conventional wedding venue, an adventurous pair in Pittsburgh chose something extraordinary. Instead of a traditional ceremony, they exchanged their vows amidst the chaos of a Cannibal Corpse concert.
Not only was this act genuine, but it also had tangible evidence. They possess videos recording the event and legally binding documents that signify their union.
Couple gets married in Cannibal Corpse mosh pit
Erica Lynn along with her spouse, Chris, assembled a group of their friends for an extraordinary event – exchanging their vows amidst the roaring beats of a Cannibal Corpse music concert.
Today is when we declare our commitment, surrounded by our cherished friend and guide, George Corpsegrinder, as Erica expressed in a Facebook invite, encouraging everyone to gather for a pre-event get-together before the performance.
In the heart of the pit, they got married, complete with written vows and ceremonies. Moreover, they arranged for their special day to coincide with the song “Unleashing the Bloodthirsty” playing as the soundtrack.
The friend who conducted their wedding ceremony penned a script with a metallic theme. Here’s a brief snippet of it:

The wedding officiant, also their friend, crafted a metal-inspired script for the ceremony. Take a look at this short sample:
With the band in front of us performing songs filled with imagery of blood, tormented spirits, and consuming hearts, there are two striking, hauntingly beautiful symbols of love – two souls spanning over centuries, both swelling with fury, now joining forces as a single powerful entity.
According to the renowned Matthew Heafy from Trivium, “The agony of the world can’t halt our progress now, as we stand together. The malice in the world cannot shatter what unites us.” In essence, this love between Erica and Chris will endure eternally.
In simpler terms, the script contains additional details about the couple’s bond and aspirations for their shared life, leading up to the point where the couple exchange their vows, officially uniting them.
Using the authority granted to me as well as all those present here, I, Corpsegrinder, announce that you are now husband and wife. Feel free to share your first kiss as a married couple.
On that note, not every individual had a joyful day, as certain Reddit users, who reported attending the event, shared that their positive experience was somewhat tainted due to specific circumstances.
At the concert I attended, it got a bit cramped because it was extremely crowded and there wasn’t much room to move. Later on, they took control of the stage floor, which led to a couple crowd-surfing afterwards. While I admire their courage, it felt like they were trying to steal the spotlight.
“I apologize for the behavior of this city,” said another.
No matter what, it appears we all had an unforgettable time at that gaming event, where not just the couple but even their pals managed to get everyone present to endorse their union on the spot! To top it off, their marriage certificates were officially signed within the heart of the gaming pit itself.
