Independent French game developer Coven has unveiled its second project, titled Micromega. Inspired by renowned artist Mani’s works, this game challenges players with resolving physics-driven puzzles in a deteriorating, black-and-white universe. As per the game’s official announcement, “mastering scale, movement, and observation are crucial for advancement.” Additionally, Coven has released the first trailer for Micromega, which can be found below.
From the trailer preview, Micromega appears to be a captivating journey, featuring soothing ambient music that harmonizes with your navigation of a small sphere across various floating platforms, debris, and hurdles. Initially, the puzzles may seem simple, but as you progress, the game offers 30 levels that increase in complexity. These levels also contain secret passages and treasures that add additional challenges for more dedicated players. Notably, all of the game’s visually appealing environments are meticulously hand-drawn by Mani, who is both the artist and director behind Micromega.
In the game Micromega on Steam, every level requires a careful blend of physical laws and tactics to navigate, as unique creatures serve as the solution for ascending higher. Each character plays a distinct role in this grand scheme, collaborating to reshape the world and release the Sphere’s path towards the uncharted territory… Even the slightest touch can trigger profound change within this world that follows its own intricate physical laws. Understanding these interactions is crucial for making progress.
Micromega, which follows Masters of Light, is the second game from Coven. While Masters of Light is a virtual reality game that demands a headset and a relatively strong computer for its operation, Micromega boasts minimal system requirements, making it an attractive option for those with less powerful PCs.
As an avid admirer, I’m excited to share that Micromega, the game I’ve been eagerly anticipating, doesn’t have a fixed release date just yet. But here’s a silver lining: you can add it to your Steam wish list! To whet your appetite, feast your eyes on these sneak peeks of the game, featuring tantalizing glimpses of its intricate puzzles and otherworldly settings. Enjoy!
