As a devoted supporter, I find myself expressing frustration similar to President Trump, who seems to be displeased once more with Fox News Channel. This stems from a poll they conducted, indicating that my admired leader has hit an all-time low in approval ratings during his second term’s initial 100 days, according to their conservative platform.
For quite some time, Rupert Murdoch has mentioned that he plans to part ways with FoxNews, which he views as biased against Trump, but he hasn’t followed through on this yet. This pollster, whom I believe has been inaccurate about me and the MAGA movement for years, is the one he’s referring to,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.
Trump stated that Murdoch ought to initiate alterations at the China-affectionate Wall Street Journal. It’s disappointing!!!
Or, more colloquially:
Trump suggested that Murdoch needs to step up changes at the pro-China Wall Street Journal. It’s a real bummer!!!
It appears that Trump’s comments were in response to a fresh Fox News survey of U.S. voters, published on Wednesday, which showed an approval rating for his job performance at 44%, marking a decrease of 5 points since March and a single point lower than his previous best approval rating of 45% after reaching the 100-day milestone in 2017. It’s worth noting that Trump’s approval ratings within his first 100 days in office were less favorable compared to Biden (54%), Obama (62%) and George W. Bush (63%), as reported by Fox News.
In 2020, Fox News made headlines by being the initial significant network to declare Arizona for Joe Biden, a prediction that sparked Trump and his supporters’ ire and resulted in viewer backlash. However, this call proved accurate in the end.
As a movie critic, I found myself reflecting on the life and career of Rupert Murdoch, now in his 90s, who serves as the chairman emeritus of Fox Corporation, the parent company of Fox News, and also News Corp, which owns Dow Jones & Co., publishers of the Wall Street Journal. Interestingly enough, representatives from both Fox News and News Corp declined to comment on a recent statement made by former President Trump regarding their organizations.
The latest poll conducted by Fox News reveals that President Trump receives his highest approval on border security, at 55%. However, this is the only topic where he has a positive rating. On immigration, 47% approve of him (compared to 48% who disapprove), while his approval on the economy is at an all-time low of 38% (vs. 56% who disapprove). The poll’s article from Fox News also indicates that Trump’s lowest ratings are in areas such as inflation, where 33% approve and 59% disapprove, followed by tariffs (33%-58%), foreign policy (40%-54%), taxes (38%-53%), and guns (41%-44%).
Furthermore, based on a Fox News survey, Elon Musk’s collaboration with Trump on DOGE received strong disfavor, as 56% of Americans expressed disapproval, compared to 39% who approved.
As a movie enthusiast sharing my thoughts post-screening, let me clarify that the survey I’m discussing was conducted between April 18-21, 2025. This poll involved 1,104 registered U.S. voters, and it was supervised by Beacon Research (D) and Shaw & Company Research (R). The data was released by the news outlet itself.
