Steam is often bustling with activity, and every now and then, unassuming indie games suddenly become sensations. Lately, for instance, a game called Blue Prince, which falls under the puzzle adventure genre, gained popularity. Prior to that, REPO, a horror game, garnered attention.

Is REPO on Switch legit?

Yesterday, the horror game R.E.P.O Horror made its appearance on the official Nintendo Store, developed by BoggySoft, a rather imaginative moniker for this creator. This developer boasts an extensive history that dates back to April 18, 2025, when they launched their first project titled ONLY UP!. Remarkably, within a week’s time, they released two games. It’s worth noting that there is already another game with the same title, Only Up, which was published by MoreMoto Games on Steam more than a year ago. Despite its less-than-stellar reception, the visuals of both releases bear a striking resemblance.

It’s not unusual to know that BoggySoft didn’t develop the initial version of REPO. Instead, Semiwork is the one who developed this popular Steam game. To this point, BoggySoft hasn’t confirmed any console ports. In a recent statement, they mentioned that they will consider console ports once the game reaches its 1.0 patch. Given that the project is still in early access, it makes sense that their main focus is on completing the game.

On the Discord server for the official REPO game, users have flagged a questionable title that appears to exploit players’ unawareness for financial gain. Fortunately, the original game’s developers are now aware of this issue. Here’s hoping that this misleading title will be removed from Nintendo Switch as well, just like it was on the PlayStation Store.

It’s not just independent games that are being targeted by these kinds of scams. When Microsoft announced that Forza Horizon 5 would be exclusive to the PS5, some unscrupulous individuals took advantage of the confusion and developed a game resembling another popular Xbox title, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
