cast butt heads, fists, and gadgets ahead of the newest Marvel film’s premiere.
As a movie enthusiast, I’m super excited about the sneak peek IGN dropped! It hints at an epic three-way fight between U.S. Agent, Yelena Belova, and Taskmaster, only for Ant-Man and Wasp’s Ghost to crash the party unexpectedly. Despite my best efforts to bring her down, Ghost swiftly handles all three using her extraordinary combat skills and phase abilities. She even warns Yelena to keep her distance, saying “stay out of my way.” This scene was first shown in the movie’s debut trailer. As it turns out, Yelena and her comrades later discover that this confrontation was all part of a clever setup. They eventually encounter metahuman Bob/Sentry (Lewis Pullman), only to realize they had been tricked.
In addition to showcasing its impressive fight scenes, the promotional campaign for Marvel’s Thunderbolts highlighted the film’s focus on real-life stunts, such as a sequence involving the second tallest building in the world during a covert operation. This final Phase 5 installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, titled Thunderbolts, gathers characters who first appeared in Marvel’s Phase 3 and 4 films and Disney+ series, with Julia Louis-Dreyfus portraying CIA director and antagonist Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. The exception is the popular character Bucky Barnes, who assists in uniting this group of assassins and government agents. According to Sebastian Stan last year, “he finds himself better suited to them than he might initially admit, but he’s always an evolving character, and that’s what I love about him. It’s always searching for another way to express himself. I think people will be excited for the movie.
The Thunderbolts* Cast Assembled
The ensemble for the upcoming movie, Thunderbolts, gathered in London for its premiere. Previews have already been shown in certain US cinemas. So far, responses have been favorable, but it’s uncertain how well the film will perform financially during its initial box office weekend. In addition to conventional promotional efforts, the movie has adopted some unconventional arthouse strategies, such as a teaser reminiscent of A24 and a comical 90s-style ad featuring David Harbour’s limousine service. Other trailers have highlighted the ominous side, The Void, with Valentina describing him as “powerful enough to overtake all the Avengers combined” and The Void hinting menacingly, “Why would a deity obey orders from anyone?
After the exhilarating experience of watching “Thunderbolts”, I’m thrilled to share that some familiar faces will reappear for the upcoming franchise crossover, “Avengers: Doomsday”, set to release in 2026. This year, we have another treat with “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” hitting the screens this summer. And as we approach Phase 5, it promises a grand finale with Dominique Thorne and Anthony Ramos taking center stage.
Thunderbolts* releases in theaters on May 2.
