Rob Lowe on ‘The Floor’ Finale, That ‘9-1-1’ Family Death and Being Mistaken for John Stamos

On Wednesday, Rob Lowe is all set to wrap up Season 3 of his Fox competitive show, “The Floor.” With three seasons under his belt, the host is optimistic that he can conclude this season with a powerful finale that will entice viewers to tune in for Season 4, which is currently being prepared at the broadcast network.

Lowe told EbMaster that the coolest part of ‘The Floor’ is you never know what might happen. Someone could pop up out of nowhere, while someone who’s got a big spot can disappear in a flash. And let’s not forget we’ve got this Jeopardy! champ nobody wants to mess with, and for good reason. So, the advice is always be ready for the unexpected.

In essence, Rob Lowe will remain connected to the Fox family even after “9-1-1: Lone Star” concluded its five-season run. Although he starred in “Lone Star,” he continues to follow the events within the “9-1-1” universe now that his show has ended. This spinoff of ABC’s first-responder series “9-1-1” originally aired on Fox as well.

Indeed, that implies he witnessed the shocking demise of Captain Bobby Nash, played by Peter Krause on the previous week’s “9-1-1” episode. Lowe commended the clever decision made by showrunner Tim Minear, who, along with Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, are responsible for crafting both series.

I found it to be exceptionally well-written and acted, with Peter giving an outstanding performance. As Lowe stated, sometimes changes are necessary to maintain the integrity of a series like this. Both ‘9-1-1’ and its cancelled spinoff ‘Lone Star’ have a history of creating suspense about major characters’ deaths, only to ultimately save them. However, this pattern changed recently with the death of Bobby. In the final episode of ‘Lone Star’, it seemed as though Captain Owen Strand might meet his end, but just like Bobby, it turned out to be another false alarm.

In simpler terms, Lowe states that although Peter is leaving the series, ‘9-1-1’ will continue running. He also mentions that it would be excessive for both Owen Strand and the show to end.

As Lowe continues to host “The Floor” on Fox and ponders his next scripted venture, he maintains a light-hearted perspective on fellow actors vying for roles in the industry, including John Stamos, who was mistakenly identified as him by a tour guide in Hollywood not long ago.

Reflecting back on that hilarious moment, I couldn’t help but exclaim, “That comedy gold was off the charts! Truly a gem!” My boy always manages to tease me mercilessly about such incidents. This time, though, I thought he was up to his old pranks again. To my surprise, it turned out that he wasn’t this time.

Lowe has grown accustomed to the comparisons, a phenomenon that started when his movie “St. Elmo’s Fire” and Stamos’ show “Full House” were released in the late ’80s, an occurrence he’s been hearing about ever since.

When I watched the first episode of ‘Full House,’ Lowe remarked, it reminded him of what he initially assumed. He said something like, ‘Ah, they must have seen St. Elmo’s Fire and thought, “We want that actor.” He’s currently unavailable? Well, we’ll take him instead.’

Currently, his main concern is “The Floor,” a show he mentioned, which intends to reveal its strategies for the upcoming fourth season during Fox’s presentation to advertisers in New York City next month.
