Fans get a chaotic new look at everything to come in Season 8.
The new trailer for “Rick and Morty” Season 8 has been released, thanks to Adult Swim. The teaser starts with glimpses of various fantastical universes, followed by a shot from Rick’s lab (also known as Jerry’s garage), where we see Morty and Summer attached to some mysterious device. From then on, events take a turn for the worse, as monstrous aliens, ruling powers, and classic sci-fi mishaps seem poised to wreak havoc on the show’s eccentric characters. As a voiceover assures us, “The most imaginative science fiction adventures in the cosmos are back,” and it all starts when “Rick and Morty” Season 8 premieres on May 25th on Adult Swim.
Originating from the minds of Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, the animated series “Rick and Morty” first graced our screens on Adult Swim in 2013, rapidly becoming an unprecedented cultural phenomenon. The show centers around the daily life of the Smith family, featuring parents Jerry and Beth, their teenage children Summer and Morty, and Beth’s eccentric father who is often hunted across multiple galaxies and dimensions. “Rick and Morty” has gained notoriety for its profane, satirical humor as well as its intricate, captivating storylines, earning it a loyal fanbase and critical acclaim.
Rick and Morty Still Has a Long Road Ahead
In October 2024, during a panel at New York ComicCon featuring Dan Harmon, executive producer Scott Marder, and stars Harry Belden, Ian Cardoni, Sarah Chalke, Spencer Grammer, and Chris Parnell, it was confirmed that the popular series Rick and Morty has plenty of episodes ahead. Although the show had already been renewed for Season 10, the announcement of an additional two seasons means we can expect another 6 to 10 years of Rick and Morty.
On April 1st, 2025, an unforeseen event took place. A video titled “April Fools 2025: Portal People,” uploaded to Adult Swim’s YouTube channel, offered a unique twist. Real-life actors, wearing papier-mâché heads, portrayed the beloved characters from the series “Rick and Morty” in a live-action format. This special production ran for approximately 27 minutes, making it one of the most substantial efforts the show’s team might have put into an announcement video for the series’ eighth season.
At the moment, you can stream “Rick and Morty” on Amazon Prime Video. The eighth season will make its debut on Adult Swim on May 25th.
