Following a span of three years, the collaboration between Hallmark and Peacock is coming to an end, which may be disappointing for viewers who have been streaming Hallmark content on this platform. Regrettably, now, there’s only one destination available for watching their programs.

As a dedicated fan of heartwarming series like “The Way Home” and “When Calls the Heart”, I often find myself behind on episodes due to my busy gaming schedule. But fear not, there are always alternative ways to catch up on months’ worth of content! Missed this week’s new Hallmark movie? You’ve got plenty of options right at your fingertips.

As of May 1st, things will change. It’s been confirmed that Hallmark’s archive of content will be departing Peacock permanently, marking the end of their successful partnership which started in 2022. At present, neither Hallmark nor Peacock have issued any official announcements about this shift.

If you’re a Peacock subscriber who cherishes your Hallmark content, hearing that it’s being taken away is undoubtedly disheartening. However, fear not! There’s just one method to ensure you don’t miss out on the movies and shows you adore – keep your subscription active!

Hallmark movies and shows are now exclusive to the platform

It looks like you’ve figured it out! If you haven’t been streaming shows from The Hallmark Channel directly, then you should know that their content can now only be accessed by streaming it on their own app, which is called Hallmark+.

You might be wondering, “Another subscription plan? With everything going on?” However, I have a unique opportunity for you to test it out before making a commitment.

As a devoted fan, I have two options to explore the enchanting world of Hallmark: either diving right in with a direct trial or enjoying it via third-party streaming services such as Amazon Prime Video and Fubo TV. Unlike when using Peacock, the choice you make grants you direct access to Hallmark+ itself.

For seven days, Philo is free to try, followed by a monthly fee of $28. On the other hand, FuboTV starts at $24.99 for the initial month, but later costs $32 per month. However, it’s important to note that subscribers aren’t merely paying for Hallmark content; each platform offers approximately 200 channels to choose from.

To save money if you wish to end your free trial, it would be best to go straight to Hallmark and subscribe. Their plans begin at $7.99 a month, giving you access to their entire library of content, which includes popular shows like Royalish and Hearts Around the Table series.

For international fans, there’s a minor difference: The monthly price remains approximately the same (£4.99 for UK viewers), but the way you access the content varies. Just like with many streaming services, not all the titles are available in every region. At this point, it appears that most of Hallmark’s content is primarily accessible within the US.

The Way Home fans have one obvious reason to sign up

Did you recall the commotion when Season 3 initially aired, as the weekly premieres on The Hallmark Channel were cancelled? Although initial plans to make The Way Home Season 3 exclusive to streaming were scrapped, such a shift might be what we see for Season 4.

Reflecting on memories, let me take you back to December 29, 2024. That’s when we learned that Hallmark would be premiering The Way Home Season 3 exclusively on their newly launched streaming platform. Unlike When Calls the Heart Season 12, which was released on a different platform first, The Way Home would be available only on this app from the get-go.

Initially, changes in plans were made by Hallmark due to high demand, shifting back to each episode airing on the Hallmark Channel a day after December 30. Since then, this pattern has continued, with episodes becoming available on Hallmark+ the next day.

If the producers had stuck with their initial plan, it’s possible that Season 4 wouldn’t have been made. Initially, the show was seen as a risk because it strayed from the channel’s traditional format by incorporating complex themes and mature content. Given this, it seems unlikely that the series would fit within the Hallmark Channel’s usual programming.

It’s unclear yet if “The Way Home” will only air on Hallmark+ and not on the Hallmark Channel, but it could be beneficial to consider subscribing to Hallmark+ as a precaution.
