UNLEASH CHAOS: Top 5 Oblivion Remastered Races to DOMINATE the Game

Oblivion Remastered, you find yourself confronted with a myriad of choices on the character race selection screen, leaving you feeling a bit overwhelemed.

As I ponder my character creation in Oblivion, I find myself asking: “Should I be a reptilian beast, a feline, or something entirely different – a Khajiit? I yearn for an image that exudes coolness, perhaps even a hint of edginess, or the noble air of a true warrior. However, it’s not just about aesthetics or the allure of deep lore and culture (though that does intrigue me). The race I choose in this game matters deeply – it shapes my stats, resistances, and even how quickly I might fall to the first bandit I cross paths with.

In the beginning stages of play, certain races might seem like deities while others may appear more regal. However, given enough time, any race has the potential to achieve greatness. Yet, here are suggestions for optimal character classes to choose from.

Best All-Rounder: Dark Elf

If you’re someone who can’t decide between close combat, magical abilities, and stealth techniques, then the Dark Elves might just be your ideal choice.

They are equipped with a bonus of +10 for Destruction, Blade, Blunt, and Marksmanship skills. Whether you prefer to annihilate your foes with explosions, attack them directly with melee weapons, or rain arrows upon them, the Dunmer is prepared for it all.

Apart from that, they’ve an additional 10 points in Athletics and Light Armor (providing a decent survivability enhancement), as well as a 10-point boost in Mysticism for some practical magical abilities such as soul trapping and spell deflection.

In terms of statistics, they gain an enhancement in both speed and intelligence, making them quick-witted and shrewd. Additionally, their 75% resistance to fire can be seen as a gateway to the heavens.

The Higher Entity or Forebear Protector calls forth a spirit that grows in strength alongside your progression. In other words, this entity is consistently beneficial to you as you advance.

Instead of choosing a subrace that charms your way out of conflicts, opt for the Vvanderfell subrace to excel in battles by boosting your Endurance.

Best Stealth Class: Khajiit

In the realm of Oblivion, Khajiit are known as nimble feline warriors, excelling in stealth and agility. They boast a natural proficiency in Sneak, Security, Blade skills, Athletics, Acrobatics, and Light Armor from birth. However, they could benefit from honing their Marksman abilities.

Additionally, they gain a 10-point boost in agility, making them ideal for stealthy assaults and evasive maneuvers. However, they lack any resistances, offering nothing but the essence of swift, surprise attacks.

In dimly lit caves and hidden chambers, their Night Sight, which is always potent, grants them the ability to see clearly – a skill that proves indispensable. Their Greater Ability, Fear’s Eye, can instill fear in adversaries, causing them to scatter in dread. While it may not be as frequently utilized, its utility cannot be underestimated.

If you’re open to trading 10 units of speed, opt for Pellitine. Ultimately, the additional 10 Strength points aren’t worth the loss of the Endurance bonus in the long run.

Best Magic User: High Elf

If you want to go full glass cannon, you pick the High Elf.

In the game, you receive additional abilities in Destruction, Alteration, Mysticism, Illusion, Conjuration, and Alchemy, totaling 10 extra skills.

In most magical schools, excluding Restoration, you’ll find this is true. Boosting your Intelligence by 10 points and granting an additional 100 Magicka will undoubtedly make you a formidable force.

However, this comes at a cost: High Elves have an unusual sensitivity to all elements. They experience a significant 25% vulnerability towards fire, frost, and shock, which can be quite detrimental. Additionally, they lack a Greater Power, a fact that might bring about some level of humiliation.

Nevertheless, if you’re cautious (or have your minions do the fighting for you), none of the races are superior when it comes to casting spells.

When it comes to choosing a spellcaster, I’d highly recommend opting for the High Elf from Summerset Isle. This choice offers an additional 10 Speed points, which can significantly enhance your character’s agility and movement in the game.

Best Warrior Race: Redguards

Want to break things with swords and axes while looking like an absolute unit? Pick a Redguard.

As a gamer, I’ve just boosted my Blade, Blunt, and Light Armor by 15 points each, and my Heavy Armor by 10. Whether I’m aiming for agility or durability, I’ve got the stats to back me up!

Enhancements to Athletics and Recovery offer increased agility and recovery, making them excellent choices for close-combat fighters. Additionally, there are 50 points allocated towards Strength and Vitality, which are precisely the characteristics that are highly desired.

Redguards are robustly built, so they’re less likely to contract health issues such as diseases or poisoning.

If you mind the Personality penalty, go for the Dragontail Mount subrace.

Best Tank: Orcs

Orcs don’t care about your feelings. They care about smashing your face in.

To begin with, your character possesses a range of fundamental skills: Heavy Armor, Blunt Weapons, Armorer, Block, and Hand-to-Hand, which essentially equips them as both a tank and a berserker. Furthermore, we’ve boosted male characters with an additional +10 Strength and Willpower, while females receive a +5 bonus. This enhancement ensures your character has the endurance to deliver powerful blows and the resilience to absorb damage effectively.

Additionally, they possess a continuous 25% immunity to magical spells, a significant advantage – particularly when magicians begin casting spells as if they were tossing fireworks.

In this transformed state, their Overpowering Might, Rage, turns them into mobile fortresses: they gain +50 Strength and 200 Stamina for 60 seconds, but their Agility decreases by 100 during that period. You’ll pack quite a punch, but you’ll stumble around as if under the influence.
