Heartstopper is based on Alice Oseman’s webcomic and graphic novel of the same name. Oseman, who initially wrote the script for the show, returns as the writer for the feature film, which will be inspired by the final volume of the graphic novel.
Despite no specific release date for the sixth and final installment of the book series having been announced, Oseman has hinted that it will be out before the overall series ends. The creative team behind “Heartstopper” have been tirelessly working, and filming is slated to commence this summer. As reported by Deadline in February, Oseman was optimistic about a positive outcome, which came true as a feature film was greenlit.
