The television show “The Snake,” a competitive series, has been acquired by Fox, with comedian Jim Jefferies set as the host.
This summer, the show is set to broadcast on Fox, with it being available for streaming the following day on Hulu. A specific premiere date will be disclosed at a later point in time. The series belongs entirely to Fox Entertainment and is produced by 495 Productions. SallyAnn Salsano acts as both executive producer and showrunner, while Frank Miccolis and Kim Green also hold the position of executive producers.
Jefferies expressed his excitement as he announced, ‘I’m looking forward to presenting ‘The Snake!’ – a program that explores the dynamics of making friends and pretending to be friends.’ Throughout his life, with his upbringing in Australia and current residence in Hollywood, he has had ample experience dealing with various types of ‘snakes’,” (metaphorically speaking).
In the television program, 15 individuals hailing from influential careers, as Fox terms it, will partake in diverse tasks. The victor of each task assumes the role of The Snake, empowered to determine which contestants remain in the game and who are eliminated.
The social element of this game remains constant – it’s all about forging connections, whether you’re making genuine friends, feigning friendships, or kindling romantic interests,” the description goes. “During the Saving Ceremony, trust is pushed to its limits as players strive to evade being chosen last by The Snake, hoping to dodge elimination. Each week offers a new challenge and a new Snake. In the end, only one contestant will come close to winning the $100,000 grand prize. Choose to befriend, betray, or disappear.
SallyAnn lends an authentic, innovative spin to the strategy competition series on Fox, according to Michael Thorn, president of Fox Television Network. ‘The Snake: Trust Me’ truly embodies its title.
As a film enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that Fox’s ongoing roster of competition shows truly captivates me. Among them are timeless favorites like “The Masked Singer,” the electrifying “Beat Shazam,” and the graceful “So You Think You Can Dance.” Furthermore, there’s a wealth of Gordon Ramsay programming, such as those under his Fox partnership, Studio Ramsay Global. It’s a veritable feast for any TV lover!
In his latest hosting role, Jefferies takes center stage, having previously helmed a self-named late-night comedy show on Comedy Central for three seasons. Prior to this, he graced the screen as himself in the FX sitcom “Legit.” To date, Jefferies boasts ten stand-up specials, with his latest, “High & Dry,” premiering on Netflix in 2023.
