The “The Shivering Isles” expansion for Oblivion transports you to the outskirts, where you’ll uncover hidden mysteries, with enticing treasures as rewards. This intriguing adventure becomes accessible immediately upon leaving the sewers at the onset of the game.


As you leave the sewer tutorial zone behind, you’ll receive a tip about an odd door found near Niben Bay, which borders Bravil. To start your adventure in the Shivering Isles, simply teleport to Bravil and then swim towards the peculiar island situated right in the heart of the lake.

At that location, you’ll come across an unusual construction made of giant stone visages and a radiant entranceway. Interacting with the nearby guard may cause another person in the vicinity to start babbling incoherently and then become aggressive towards you.


After dealing with the attacker, tell the guard that you wish to go in.

In just a short while, you’ll come across a voice, seemingly originating from the portal, discussing the search for a mortal hero. Upon hearing this, step through the entrance to venture into the Fringe, marking the start of the questline for this expansion.
