Pepsi has significantly altered the color of its bottles for a line of special editions, however, it may prove fortunate for fans if they manage to obtain one.
The NHL playoffs are underway, and in honor of the teams’ pursuit of the Stanley Cup, Pepsi has revealed they will be switching their cola’s hue to orange, showing their backing for the Edmonton Oilers.
These bottles appear similar to standard Pepsi ones, yet unlike the typical dark cola hue, the beverage inside is vividly orange. It’s not a new flavor variant like Orange Cream Coke that we’re familiar with.
The alteration is attributed to Pepsi as a tribute to the fact that 35 years ago, hockey legend Grant Fuhr signed an agreement with them to display their logo and colors on his goalie pads in 1989. Unfortunately, the NHL wouldn’t allow him to wear it at the time.
Fans are having a tough time acquiring the bottles, as it’s turning out to be a rather challenging endeavor.
New Orange Pepsi is incredibly rare
Since the unveiling of the product, enthusiasts have been attempting, albeit with limited success, to secure the distinctive orange Pepsi bottles for themselves.
Reddit users who support the Edmonton Oilers have been diligently seeking out the orange Pepsi, even reaching out directly to the soda company in their quest for more details.

“I want one to add it to my shrine for the Oiler Gods!” one exclaimed.
When I phoned Pepsi, they informed me that they only have around 1000 units available, but they’re not selling them; instead, they’re distributing them.
It’s not unprecedented that an orange-flavored Pepsi product has been distributed in a restricted manner before. In fact, they handed out 1,100 bottles of orange soda back in 2019 for the Browns vs Rams game in Cleveland, which marked their return to Sunday Night Football.
Based on how far the Oilers advance in the playoffs, this brief phenomenon might extend for a longer period.
2024 saw our team reach the Stanley Cup finals, but unfortunately, they were defeated by the Florida Panthers after seven thrilling matches.
