After breathtakingly bringing one of the most legendary video games ever made, The Last of Us, to life on HBO, Pedro Pascal might be taking on another exciting project: could a live-action Dead Space television series be in our future?
Over time, there’s been a shift in how well video game adaptations are received. What were once expected to be box office failures have proven to be successful. The Super Mario Bros. Movie has become one of the highest-earning films ever made, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 set records as the most profitable film in its series, and a Minecraft movie is projected to surpass the billion-dollar mark in revenue.
Neil Druckmann, who previously spearheaded one of the top-notch adaptations – ‘The Last of Us’, now in its critically-acclaimed second season, has been at the forefront. If you’re skeptical, I invite you to read my review on Season 2 for validation.
Apart from his upcoming roles in Fantastic Four, The Mandalorian, and the character Grogu, there’s a rumor circulating on social media that he might be involved in a Dead Space series. However, I haven’t verified if this information is accurate.
The truth behind Pedro Pascal’s alleged Dead Space TV show
Pedro Pascal is currently not working on or involved with the creation of a live-action Dead Space television series, as there is no active production taking place at this time.
Regrettably, the post you came across appears to be fabricated, as it originates from an account known for sharing false movie posters, specifically one named YODA BBY ABY.
In September, get ready for Dead Space, an intense six-part streaming series on MAX, featuring Pedro Pascal in the role of a solitary engineer, stranded aboard the ghost ship USG Ishimura. Here, the deceased come back to life as terrifying Necromorphs. (The Facebook page posted this)
Under the guidance of renowned horror director James Wan, each episode takes you on a chilling journey into a blood-stained abyss filled with nightmarish terror. The Marker’s curse looms ominously, threatening to engulf all of mankind. Brace yourself as you witness a struggle for survival that turns into a grisly battle against the shadows – available for streaming this fall!
If you found yourself getting enthusiastic about it and perhaps shared the false information with a friend, then you understand who’s responsible for misleading you.
John Carpenter, at one point, showed interest in directing a Dead Space movie, but as of now, it seems like the project is still on hold. “I can’t believe how that spread,” Carpenter remarked to Variety in 2023, ten years after his earlier statement about the movie gained widespread attention.
As a passionate enthusiast of video games, I’ve played every single title available. While perusing the latest digital cameras, specifically the RED model, I casually expressed my interest in creating a movie adaptation of Dead Space.
The news circulated, and everyone was asking, “When will you take on the project?” I won’t be doing it. I believe they’ve already found another director for the job, and no one has approached me about it yet.
I won’t do it unless asked, but with a fresh release of Dead Space game due in January, count me in!
Fret not if you’re caught up on The Last of Us, Pedro Pascal won’t be departing. Discover when the upcoming episode will air and stay tuned for this year’s most anticipated TV shows by checking out our 2025 TV Show Schedule.
