The upcoming comedy series titled “Can You Keep a Secret,” starring renowned British TV personality Dawn French, is about to debut on Paramount+ within the United States.
The show, featuring seven-time BAFTA TV nominee Jennifer French (known for “French & Saunders” and “The Vicar of Dibley”), along with Mark Heap (“Friday Night Dinner”), has completed its shooting. Also in the cast are Craig Roberts (“Submarine”) and Mandip Gill (“Doctor Who”).
Can You Keep a Secret?” tells the story of Debbie Fendon, a strong-willed French grandmother who goes to great lengths to shield her family. However, as the plot unfolds, it becomes clear that Debbie may pose the greatest threat to them all. After her reclusive husband, William (played by Mark Heap), apparently passes away unexpectedly, Fendon makes an audacious move that puts even more strain on the family. But here’s the twist: William isn’t truly deceased – he was erroneously declared so and has been residing in the attic, waiting for their life insurance payout to come through.
This news unexpectedly startles their son Harold (Roberts), who’s quite sensitive, as he happens to be married to Neha (Gill) who works in the local police force. As they begin to grapple with the puzzling actions of these elderly individuals behaving like young children, Debbie unveils yet another hidden truth she’d been concealing. This revelation could potentially destabilize the entire family.
As a devoted viewer, I’m excited to share that this captivating series is a joint production between Big Talk Studios, Mayhay Studios, and CBS Studios. Kenton Allen, Simon Mayhew-Archer, French, and Toby Welch have taken on the executive producer roles, while Simon Hynd will be directing.
