The production of ‘Enola Holmes 3’ has commenced in the U.K., with Millie Bobby Brown, Louis Partridge, Henry Cavill, Helena Bonham Carter, Himesh Patel, and Sharon Duncan-Brewster reprising their roles for another round of Netflix’s detective adventures set in Victorian times.
Philip Barantini, fresh from aiding Netflix in breaking viewership records with “Adolescence,” assumes the director’s role for the franchise marking his debut, replacing Harry Bradbeer who helmed the first two films. Barantini is utilizing a screenplay penned by his “Adolescence” partner Jack Thorne, who has authored all three “Enola Holmes” movies, inspired by the “The Enola Holmes Mysteries” book series written by Nancy Springer, which chronicles the thrilling detective work of Sherlock Holmes’ adolescent sibling.
In the third part, Enola Holmes is pursued by an exciting journey that takes her to Malta. There, her personal and career aspirations intertwine in a complex and dangerous case, one that surpasses any challenge she has previously encountered.
As a movie enthusiast, I’m excited to share that the producers behind this project are Mary Parent, Ali Mendes, and Alex Garcia from Legendary Entertainment, along with Brown and Bobby Brown from their production company, PCMA Productions. The executive producers include Jake Bongiovi and Isobel Richards from PCMA, Joshua Grode from Legendary, and Michael Dreyer.
The “Enola Holmes” movies have been a significant success for Netflix, with “Enola Holmes 2” reaching the number one spot globally in late 2022 after accumulating over 68 million hours of viewership across 93 countries. Furthermore, it was reported that Millie Bobby Brown earned $10 million for her role as the lead actress, making it the highest upfront salary for an actor under 20 years old at the time.
