More improvements are coming to Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 in 1.2.0 update today.

Firaxis Games developers shared news about an upcoming edition of their game well ahead of Easter. They’ve published a fresh developer diary for those who’ve been out of the loop regarding updates on what we know as Civilization 7. This video discusses impending changes, some of which were sparked by player suggestions.

In Version 1.2.0 update, we’re introducing 10 fresh resources into the game, complete with their associated story events and distribution mechanisms across the two halves of the virtual world in Civilization 7. We’ve also incorporated the population development formula for a more realistic experience. Additionally, you can expect the introduction of the “one more turn” mode (essentially an endless mode) and the classic team variant. Other enhancements include various gameplay quality of life improvements, particularly changes to the interface, and even a “repair all” button for your convenience.

It seems clear that Civilization VII could greatly benefit from certain adjustments, as it has received a mixed response since its launch. Players have observed that its predecessor also took a while to catch up with the player count on Steam compared to the previous game. Nevertheless, initial updates have made a difference in the game’s reception. Yet, the 48% positive reviews on Valve’s platform reflect the significant improvements needed for Civilization VII.

The 1.2.0 update could potentially push the game to achieve a minimum “thumbs up” rating of 50%, or even mostly positive reviews, if not sooner. However, a definitive evaluation won’t be possible until its release, which we anticipate will be around the usual time for updates – mid-afternoon.
