Nintendo Switch 2 Amiibo Are Even More Expensive Than Expected

When Nintendo revealed they were raising the cost of Switch 2’s first-party accessories, they didn’t specifically mention any changes to the upcoming Zelda and Street Fighter Amiibo. Given their prices were already higher than usual for Amiibo, many might have thought these June 5th launch Amiibo figures would maintain their original pricing. However, it seems that the Amiibo figures are actually experiencing the largest price hikes.

These retailers like Walmart and GameStop have recently adjusted their product listings for the new Zelda and Street Fighter Amiibo action figures. Each figure now costs $10 more than its original pricing, making this the same price jump as the Switch 2 Dock Set. However, it’s important to note that while the Switch 2 Dock Set rose from $110 to $120, this increase only applies to users who wish to purchase a secondary dock. In contrast, the $10 price increase for the Amiibo figures represents a significantly higher percentage rise in comparison.

Due to the recent price adjustment, each Tears of the Kingdom Champions Amiibo will retail for $30 apiece. The upcoming Zelda Amiibo figure based on Mineru’s Construct is set to debut later in the year, but its pricing details have yet to be disclosed. Regular Zelda Amiibo figures usually go for $16, although some, like Tears of the Kingdom’s Ganondorf, carry a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $20.

In a surprising turn of events, the Street Fighter 6 Amiibo figures will cost an impressive $40 apiece. This significant price tag makes each figure just $20 cheaper than the game itself, which comes with additional free DLC content. For further context, the Ken and Ryu Amiibo from Smash Bros. previously retailed at $16 each. Though they are no longer in print, you can still find these figures for approximately $25 each on resale platforms.

On April 24, you’ll be able to place pre-orders for the seven upcoming Amiibo figures as well as the new Nintendo Switch 2 console, which are set to launch on June 5.

The new Amiibo that’s been announced is specifically designed for Mineru’s Construct. At this point, there hasn’t been a specific release date given other than “soon,” and its pricing details are still unknown. However, it seems quite large, so it wouldn’t be unexpected if it ended up costing more than the other four Champions when it goes on sale.

On April 24th, you’ll also have the opportunity to pre-order the upcoming versions of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Breath of the Wild, and Street Fighter 6 for Nintendo Switch 2.
