In an industry where designs are often guided by personal agendas and developments lack sensitivity, CI Games is bucking the trend – and it’s proving to be a smart move. The release of Version 2.0 on April 17 has seen Lords of the Fallen make a remarkable comeback, surpassing expectations and catapulting the game into Steam’s Top 10 Global Best Sellers, 18 months following its initial launch.
As a passionate gamer, I can’t help but share my excitement about the incredible resurgence of “Lords of the Fallen,” a dark fantasy RPG that initially debuted in 2023. In just the past week, this game has seen an astonishing surge in player engagement, soaring from approximately 500 simultaneous players to an impressive 10,000 on Steam! The reason behind this remarkable growth? A comprehensive revamp of the game, guided by the insights and suggestions of its dedicated player community— spearheaded by none other than CI Games CEO Marek Tymiński. This rejuvenation has truly breathed new life into “Lords of the Fallen,” making it an even more captivating experience for gamers like myself!
10,000 simultaneous players, now 18 months following its debut – a figure that was approximately 500 just last week. This incredible growth means the world to us. A heartfelt thank you to all who have believed, supported, and stayed with us throughout this journey. We’ll continue to be there for you, forever dedicated.

Tymiński shared on X that we now have 10,000 simultaneous players, a significant increase from about 500 a week ago, which was 18 months after launch. This means the world to us! We’re grateful to everyone who believed in us, supported us, and stayed with us throughout this journey. Rest assured, we will continue to be here for you.
That kind of authenticity and responsiveness is rare in modern gaming. And gamers are rewarding it.
Previously this year, CI Games carried out a significant survey among players to find out if they preferred the classic character creation with Male/Female options or the recently introduced “Body Type A/B” system launched in 2023. The feedback was clear: 88% opted for Male/Female. As promised, Tymiński implemented these changes, and in January, he updated Lords of the Fallen to eliminate the initial system and revert back to traditional gender choices.
Based on more than 49,000 votes, approximately 88% of you have expressed a preference for “male/female” options. As a studio prioritizing players, we will adapt Lords of the Fallen (2023) and subsequent titles in the series to reflect this choice. Keep an eye out for updates!

84.4% agreed. In response, CI Games made changes to their character creator, focusing on making characters more visually appealing and aspirational in design for future development.
The promises made previously weren’t just empty words. The latest 2.0 update, labeled as the ultimate version of the game, has brought significant improvements:
1. Enhanced combat mechanics for smoother gameplay.
2. Cross-platform cooperative play, where progress is synced across all devices.
3. User Interface (UI) and Head-Up Display (HUD) upgrades for a more intuitive experience.
4. A new in-game manual to assist players.
5. A dedicated jump button for easier navigation.
6. The introduction of a Free Friend’s Pass, enabling users to invite friends to play without having the game themselves.

Instead of adopting identity-focused marketing strategies and corporate lingo like bigger studios do, CI Games concentrates on hearing from their genuine audience, and this approach seems effective.
Just look at the comparisons:
In simple terms, the video game titled “Assassin’s Creed Shadows” – a high-budget AAAA title – has been attracting between 12,000 and 14,000 simultaneous players on Steam less than a month since its launch.

In the past day, Dragon Age: The Veilguard saw around 2,000 gamers engaged, a significant number given it came out towards the end of October, and is associated with one of role-playing games’ (RPG) most renowned series.
In the meantime, the action RPG game “Lords of the Fallen,” developed by a medium-sized studio, is enjoying success with over 10,000 players and continues to climb up global sales rankings.
The whole “woke” community seems to be hoping that this game will flop and disappear, as it caters to the desires of its players and is truly magnificent.
The “woke” movement appears to wish for this game’s demise, as it delights players and shines with grandeur.
2.0 Version of Lords of the Fallen has astonishingly made it into the global top ten best-sellers on Steam, a remarkable feat achieved nearly two years following its initial release!
— Endymion (@EndymionYT) April 20, 2025
YouTuber Endymion didn’t mince words.
He stated, “The whole woke crowd hopes this game will wither away since it caters to players’ preferences and is magnificent. Remarkably, Lords of the Fallen 2.0 has achieved the unthinkable by landing on the Top 10 Global Steam Best Sellers list, nearly two years following its release!”
Former World of Warcraft team lead Mark Kern (Grummz) echoed the sentiment.
Two-year-old video game ‘Lords of the Fallen’ has attracted over 10,000 players today,” he stated. “Meanwhile, the newly released AAA game ‘AC Shadows’, backed by hundreds of millions of dollars in development and marketing, only has 13,000 players. This highlights the importance of taking gamers’ feedback into account.
2 year old AA game, Lords of the Fallen, breaks 10k players today.
The newly released triple-A title, Assassin’s Creed Shadow, which was backed by over $100 million in development and marketing expenses, currently has only about 13,000 players.
This is the power of listening to gamers feedback.

Following his dismissal from the original r/LordsoftheFallen subreddit due to his open advocacy for “gamers first,” Tymiński stood firm with unwavering assurance in response.
In the long run, honesty ultimately prevails. It’s essential to establish trust by being genuine and open, rather than altering stories. The priority should always be the well-being of those involved.
CI Games has recently established an official and active subreddit titled r/TheLordsOfTheFallen, which has seen an influx of members previously banned from the old one. These users are appreciative of this fresh platform where they can express their thoughts and excitement about the game without political censorship.

User Caveman1982 stated: “I was excluded from another forum because I expressed my viewpoint regarding their community and its preferences, which apparently is not welcomed there. So, this post is simply to express my gratitude to all of you!
At a period when it appears that leading game studios are focusing more on promoting ideas rather than creating exceptional games, CI Games stands out by demonstrating that prioritizing the audience is still significant. They actively listen to their community, act upon feedback, and focus on delivering enjoyment and immersion above all else.
It’s a simple formula. And it works.
