WWE’s Drew McIntyre Debuts Doom: The Dark Ages Gear For Wrestlemania Entrance

Video games and wrestling are a dynamic duo that have formed an enduring bond over the years. From The New Day showcasing their love for Final Fantasy 14, to Speedball Mike Bailey tipping his hat to Chrono Trigger, this unique combination has persisted as a popular trend in both fields. At a recent major wrestling event, former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre sported gear inspired by Doom: The Dark Ages for his match against Damian Priest.

McIntyre’s ongoing conflict with ex-world champion Priest stems from last year’s Wrestlemania, where Priest seized McIntyre’s World Heavyweight Championship using his Money in the Bank briefcase. This incident has been fueling their animosity. In a recent event billed as Sin City Street Fight, McIntyre emerged victorious.

McIntyre put on a chain-mail cloak adorned with spiked shoulder pads and armored gloves, complete with his customary kilt. Additionally, he had the Doom Slayer figure, along with his shield and helmet, placed at the entrance – these were part of his video game props.

In May, we’ll release “Doom: The Dark Ages,” a game installment that appears to flesh out the main storyline of the game. From the trailer, it seems that we learn about how the Doom Slayer, who was once enslaved by the Maykrs following his journey to Hell, eventually became the most legendary hero known.

It will be available on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC, and will launch as a day-one Game Pass title.
