Marathon Alpha Update Allows Players To Talk About The Game

As a gamer, I’m thrilled to share that Bungie has made a change in the rules for the upcoming Marathon closed alpha test! The Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) is being lifted, which means starting from April 23 until May 4, we can freely discuss our gaming experiences during this period. Let’s spread the word and share our thoughts about this exciting event!

In their announcement, developers at Bungie expressed that community input and discussions are crucial for creating the optimal Marathon. So far, this input has been gathered through private playtest sessions. To move towards that future, they have decided to lift the Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) from the Closed Alpha Test. Now, everyone is free to express their thoughts, provide feedback, and share footage, including live streaming starting on April 23.

Bungie expressed their keen eagerness to receive feedback on various aspects of Marathon, including its gunplay, weapons, map design, character movement (runners), early game advancement, player-versus-player (PvP) interactions with other gamers, and player-versus-environment (PvE) battles against AI. However, they also made it clear that the alpha version of the game will not showcase elements like final graphics, a refined user interface, a fully developed storyline, or ranked play modes.

The alpha phase demands that every player possesses a Bungie.net account, but neither a PlayStation Plus nor an Xbox Live subscription at this point. However, these will be necessary when Marathon officially debuts. Importantly, unlike the Destiny series, Marathon won’t offer a single-player mode; instead, its multiplayer (PvP) experience serves as its base, as suggested by its previous game director.

The video game titled “Marathon” is set to debut on September 23 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
