YouTuber Old’s Cool Kevmo beats cancer despite slim chance of survival

Cool Kevmo, a popular cooking YouTuber with more than 1.3 million subscribers, recently shared that he has triumphantly overcome stage 4 cancer.

Through his courageous battle against illness, he’s been creating content by showcasing his culinary skills as a chef within a sorority house. Kevmo has charmed countless viewers with his deceptively simple yet mouthwatering dishes, often unbeknownst to many of his more recent fans that he was undergoing cancer treatment.

Despite being unwell, this YouTuber didn’t focus on his illness as main content or resort to sensationalism for views. Instead, he continued posting cooking videos and managed his treatment during his spare time. On rare occasions, he would wear a shirt promoting disease awareness and occasionally share health updates.

18 months have passed since his initial cancer diagnosis, and now, he announced with joy that he’s successfully overcome the disease and is now cancer-free.

Back in the day, I found myself facing a challenging reality – I’d been diagnosed with metastatic cancer, a formidable foe that has already spread its tentacles to other parts of my body. Specifically, I was battling stage 4 melanoma, a type of skin cancer, and the odds were stacked against me, with only a 30% chance of survival. But hey, I’m not one to back down easily. I’ve got this fight in me, and I’m ready to take it on!

He shared that the outlook for his condition wasn’t very favorable. His doctor had informed him he had a 70% chance of not making it through his cancer battle. He went on to say that such news can dramatically alter one’s life.

Previously, during the last summer, a change or alteration occurred in my cancer that triggered the growth of a fresh tumor. This tumor was successfully eliminated with radiation treatment. Additionally, I have undergone more than 20 rounds of immunotherapy through intravenous infusions.

For Kevin, the path he’s been on has had its share of highs and lows, but he recently learned some encouraging news: his most recent PET scan indicates no further metabolic activity, suggesting he’s effectively in the clear.

As someone who’s conquered cancer twice now, I know all too well that I need to stay vigilant about my health and get regular check-ups, given that those who have defeated cancer once often face a higher risk of it coming back. And unfortunately, this latest challenge is none other than the return of skin cancer, which I thought I had left behind for good.
