You Won’t Believe Dr. Hill’s SHOCKING Role in the Until Dawn Movie

Gary Dauberman, both writer and producer, assures fans that a beloved video game character remains highly significant.

Dauberman has revealed that Dr. Hill, who was played by Peter Stormare in both the initial game and its movie version, will continue to play a significant role in the forthcoming film. According to him, “Dr. Hill from the game is the same individual,” but he’s hesitant to disclose much about his intentions without revealing spoilers. However, he emphasized that Dr. Hill’s role in the movie remains just as pivotal as it was in the game.

Created by Supermassive Games, this game allows players to direct eight young adults on a chilling mountain retreat that turns into a study of sheer horror. The game incorporates a butterfly effect mechanism where the choices made by a player as one character significantly shape the overall narrative, affecting not only their own fate but also that of other key characters in Until Dawn. Upon its debut, Until Dawn received generally favorable feedback from both critics and gamers, leading to rapid development of a VR spinoff, prequel, and spiritual successor: Until Dawn: Blood Rush, The Inpatient, and The Quarry.

As a movie critic, I found Dr. Hill to be an intriguing character in “Until Dawn.” Throughout the game, he appears in various therapy sessions, but remains somewhat of a mystery to the player. Despite his narrative being connected to events preceding those of the game, and even intertwining with key characters’ stories, he doesn’t directly participate in the central horror that unfolds. Interestingly, it was revealed back in 2024 that Dr. Hill will return in a future project titled “Until Dawn: The Analyst,” joining an impressive cast including Ella Rubin, Michael Cimino, Odessa A’zion, Ji-young Yoo, Belmont Cameli, and Maia Mitchell.

Until Dawn will slash its way into theaters on April 25.
