There are several Marvel movies on the horizon, but none are likely as eagerly awaited as “Avengers: Doomsday,” directed by the Russo Brothers. One of the main Avengers (whose seat we’ve previously seen), Anthony Mackie, is jetting off to London to begin filming the next chapter of “Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.” He recently reminded us that heroes can take various forms, even animated ones. The actor from “Twisted Metal” was spotted donning a T-shirt featuring the “Powerpuff Girls,” and it’s always exciting to see different fandoms intersect!

The Captain America: Brave New World star took to his official Instagram Stories (@anthonymackie), posting a selfie with the caption “And so it begins…” while wearing a Powerpuff Girls T-shirt and sitting aboard what appears to be a flight en route to filming. The image, now making the rounds on social media, is splattered with dramatic red filter effects, as if Mojo Jojo himself got hold of a bucket of stage blood.

Although the blood-splatter effect implies a somber tone typical of the movie Doomsday, Mackie’s T-shirt shows he hasn’t forgotten to keep things light and playful. (Come on, if it were a contest to defeat Doom, I’d bet my money on Sam Wilson with the Powerpuff Girls cheering him on.)

The man from the 8 Mile neighborhood exudes an effortless coolness, primed to command Earth’s Strongest Team as he makes his way to London. He dons Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup with the flair of a ’90s enthusiast. His attire speaks volumes: “I can handle the shield while embracing some timeless cartoon energy.

The Russos must plan carefully to manage the numerous superheroes scheduled for both Avengers 5 and 6. However, this isn’t hinting at a surprise joint appearance or individual films coming out in 2025. Yet, I wouldn’t rule it out as an exciting idea – imagine the blend of Marvel Cinatic Universe (MCU) atmosphere and Cartoon Network nostalgia!

Instead of anticipating a fusion with the diminutive heroes from Townsville, we’re excitedly looking forward to the long-awaited crossover featuring the X-Men! Anthony Mackie is thrilled about joining forces with Cyclops and Nightcrawler.
