Bandai Namco has officially announced that Super Robot Wars Y will be released on August 28, 2024. This crossover mecha strategy RPG is scheduled to launch for the PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC (via Steam) during their April 2024 SRW Series Information Bureau stream.
Moreover, Bandai Namco unveiled the complete lineup of games scheduled for Super Robot Wars Y, which includes those previously showcased during the initial announcement. Titles marked in bold will make their console debuts after appearing in SRW mobile games such as SRW X-Ω and SRW DD. If a title is also italicized, it represents its first appearance in the entire Super Robot Wars series history.

The trailer additionally showcases the Assist Link feature, enhancing the capabilities of non-pilot characters that were previously present in SRW T and SRW 30. Now, each supporting character will have an individual Rank, which can be elevated by accumulating experience points through frequent use of their assist functions.
During a live stream talk show, the core team behind the game provided additional information about SRW Y. Notably, this new series entry will utilize a distinct game engine, unlike its predecessors. Furthermore, it boasts a completely revamped menu system design. The pre-battle menu now offers estimated damage values for attacks, allowing players to make more accurate decisions regarding which attacks and Spirit Commands to use in order to effectively vanquish the enemy.
Furthermore, the stream reveals that the Tactical Area Selection feature from SRW 30, which allows players to pinpoint mission locations, will be reintroduced in SRW Y. Notably, this updated version will also incorporate a fresh Mission Map, providing a clear overview of the main storyline and side missions’ progression.
