The Halo video game series has achieved tremendous success for numerous reasons, not just its innovative gameplay. Since the debut of Halo: Combat Evolved on the original Xbox, it has consistently captivated players with well-crafted narratives featuring memorable characters that fans have come to love and support. This narrative quality was also evident in the Paramount+ series adaptation, which spanned two seasons before its recent cancellation.

Fans of the gaming franchise had various opinions about how the game’s narrative was translated to television, but one character who captivated viewers universally was Soren-066, portrayed masterfully by Bokeem Woodbine (known for his roles in Ripley and Fargo). We seemed to understand each other instinctively, and I believe we both have acquaintances who are similar to the characters we’re playing. There was little need for extra efforts beyond our individual preparations once we started filming. It all unfolded quite naturally, much like you’d expect from a genuine friendship. And let me tell you, David is an exceptional actor and a truly remarkable person. I consider myself fortunate to consider him my friend.
