fans just got a sneak peek at the aftermath of Captain Bobby Nash’s tragic death.
In a recently released trailer shared by TV Promos, viewers catch a glimpse of how the primary characters from 9-1-1 are coping following the heartbreaking demise of LAFD Captain Bobby Nash, as depicted in the last episode. Whilst Chimney struggles with the realization that he caused Bobby to risk his life unnecessarily, Athena is deeply mourning the unexpected death of her husband. The entire city is preparing to remember and honor him in a fitting manner.
In 2018, Nash held two significant roles: captain at LAFD Station 118 and the husband of Athena Grant-Nash, portrayed by Angela Bassett in her role as an LAPD Patrol Sergeant. Additionally, he was a close friend of Kenneth Choi’s character, Howard “Chimney” Han. Tragically, Nash passed away in the fifteenth episode of the current eighth season, titled “Lab Rats.” During this episode, Nash selflessly gave his life to protect his team from a lethal virus. This event came as an unexpected shock not only to viewers but also to the cast and crew of the series.
Previously, Bassett mentioned that she learned she would play her husband in an episode late in the season. She explained, “Towards the end of the season, we’re often racing against time to receive our scripts, and we start filming them the next day. So it was quite a shock when I read the script and saw my husband’s character was mine.” Initially, the role of the bio lab was given to another character, but she was taken aback to discover it was her own.
Bobby Nash Was Written in Sacrifice
Krause himself acknowledged his character’s destiny in a statement that conveyed a sense of sacrifice and was designed for this very role. Emergency responders put their lives on the line at work so that others can live another day, and Krause’s storyline pays tribute to them. We at “9-1-1” salute all the heroic men and women who perform these risky jobs and tirelessly work to ensure our safety.
Krause expressed gratitude towards the cast and crew of the show, especially Dana Walden, Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear for giving him the opportunity to portray such a multifaceted character over the past nine years. As he took his leave, Krause said, “I will miss my 9-1-1 family. Our exceptional crew whose skills are unmatched. The writers who continuously impress us with their creativity. The directors tasked with bringing our stories to life… This farewell is bittersweet.
9-1-1 can be streamed right now on both Disney+ and Prime Video. The last two episodes of season 8 will air on ABC on the 1st and 8th of May respectively.
