Vince Vaughn Visits Donald Trump and The White House Shares ‘Wedding Crashers’ Parody Poster

The White House’s official social media platform honored Donald Trump’s meeting with Vince Vaughn by posting a humorous tribute, mimicking the promotional artwork for Vaughn’s 2005 film “Wedding Crashers.

Last Friday, the actor known for “Swingers” visited the Oval Office to speak with the President. After their conversation, both the official White House Twitter and Instagram accounts posted a playful parody of “Wedding Crashers,” titled “The White House Gatecrashers.” This image depicted Vaughn instead of Owen Wilson, alongside Trump.

The title of the post is “President Donald J. Trump and Vince Vaughn in the Oval Office.” It didn’t provide any information regarding why they were there or Vince Vaughn being part of Trump’s planned visits.

Although it’s uncertain whether the actor known as “Bad Monkey” cast a vote for Trump, Vaughn, who identifies as a libertarian, has openly shared his political beliefs in the past. In an interview with The New York Times in 2024, he expressed, “I am more of a supporter of giving individuals the freedom to decide. Therefore, I believe that drugs should be legal and people should have access to guns…I prefer to let people make their own decisions, and they can face the repercussions of those choices.

2020 saw the actor encounter criticism when footage emerged of him shaking hands with Trump during a Louisiana State University football match. After this encounter, Vaughn chose to clarify his actions in an interview with the Los Angeles Times.

He mentioned that our encounter was his first time meeting him. They exchanged greetings, and he found him quite friendly. However, they didn’t discuss politics, as he stated. He also clarified that he doesn’t back any particular political party, often finding it challenging to discover a candidate who aligns with his philosophical views instead of simply following the party line. At present, he chose not to delve deeper into the subject.
