In a chat on the Disney Countdown Show podcast, voice actor John Morris, who plays Andy in Toy Story, shared an interesting story. As a kid, he demonstrated the “no toy left behind” attitude even before the phrase was known. For his first audition, casting directors asked him to bring his favorite toy. Instead of choosing just one, he brought along all his X-Men action figures in a large case, much to his mother’s surprise. It turned out that this decision helped him land the role because it mirrored Andy’s character, who brings and plays with multiple toys rather than just one. John Morris still cherishes his X-Men action figures, which played a significant part in kickstarting his career as Andy. Perhaps young John Morris carried around more than just a plastic fork with his X-Men figures!
