After the release of “Sinners”, Ryan Coogler is once again focusing on his revamp of the “X-Files” television series.
Ryan Coogler was initially rumored in 2023 to be working on a revival of “The X-Files” series, following confirmation from creator and executive producer Chris Carter that discussions had taken place regarding the reprisal of the supernatural detective drama. In this series, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson portrayed FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully respectively, who were tasked with investigating unexplained phenomena.

The X-Files,” initially broadcast on Fox by 20th Century Fox Television, ran for nine seasons from 1993 to 2001. It later returned to Fox for two additional series in 2016 and 2018. Now, Coogler is working on the concept of a further revival under his overall contract with Walt Disney Television.
Inquired about their recent communication, Coogler affirmed that he and Anderson have indeed spoken. “She’s exceptional, and here’s hoping,” he stated, elaborating that Anderson was wrapping up work on ‘Tron: Ares’ during their last conversation. “We aim to create something truly outstanding, buddy, and something for dedicated ‘X-Files’ enthusiasts while potentially attracting new ones.
