Tyler Fischer, a comedian who occasionally appeared on the primetime show “Gutfeld!” on Fox News, alleges that he was removed from the network due to his actions of asking a female employee out for coffee, which he terms as a “woke crime.” However, sources close to Fischer’s interaction with the Fox News employee suggest that his behavior made the staff member uncomfortable to such an extent that she sought help from security.
After approximately 2 years, I will no longer appear on the TV show @Gutfeldfox. Regrettably, they’ve taken a progressive stance and let me go for reasons that are hard to fathom. In a post dated April 16 on platform X, Fischer stated that his alleged ‘woke offense’ was asking an employee out for coffee. Yes, this is the reason behind my departure from the show. I have evidence to support these claims and am considering legal action for defamation as this situation seems utterly unreasonable.
Fischer further explained, “At Fox News, it’s not wrong or against regulations to ask a fully grown individual for coffee. However, in today’s overly sensitive climate, any move by a man is branded as some form of problematic masculinity.” He also claimed that the show “Gutfeld!” pays its rotating guests absolutely nothing, despite the fact that we put in the same amount of effort and even work just as hard as the regular hosts who are all compensated. Instead of being recognized as professionals, we’re treated more like interns.
Fischer added, “It’s okay to ask a grown person for coffee at Fox, but today, any action by a man is often seen as unacceptable masculinity. Also, I believe that the rotating guests on ‘Gutfeld!’ aren’t paid anything, even though we work just as hard as the regular hosts who are compensated.” He also stated that we’re treated more like interns rather than professionals on the show.
Fox News declined to comment on Fischer’s post.
A person who knows about Fischer’s encounter with a Fox News staff member at their New York office in January 2025 stated that the comedian took her phone, entered his own number into it, and then insisted she verify that he was saved in her contacts. This incident wasn’t friendly, according to the source, and the employee reported it to security personnel. EbMaster has contacted Fischer’s PR team for a response on this matter.
Prior to his final appearance on “Gutfeld!” in January, Fischer had been on the show 15 times.
On January 20, 2025 – the day of President Trump’s inauguration – Fox News’ streaming service, Fox Nation, debuted “No Pardon Needed With Tyler Fischer.” This special, lasting for about 45 minutes, was filmed at Joe Rogan’s comedy club in Austin, Texas. As described by Fox, it offers a humorous perspective on the present political and cultural landscape, with Fischer performing impersonations of figures such as Trump, President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Elon Musk, and various members of Trump’s cabinet.
Fox News introduced Fischer as an up-and-coming comedian and content creator, known for his election-related and pandemic-focused comedy specials that feature his impressive celebrity impressions and ability to weave cultural commentary that appeals to a wide range of ages and political beliefs. As per the network’s announcement, Fischer resides in both Austin and New York City, and he has just started on his second cross-country stand-up comedy tour.
In a recent post about X, Fischer mentioned that “For several months after my cancellation, I’ve tried contacting the folks from the TV show, but they’ve chosen not to respond.
