Warfare in Victoria 3 will be heavily improved in patch 1.9

Currently, Paradox Studio is actively developing Version 1.9 for Victoria 3, which brings about a significant overhaul in its trading system. However, there’s more! The team has recently released an article detailing the enhancements to the warfare aspects that this update will incorporate.

  1. The devs want to change the way war fronts are generated. The current system sometimes causes problems because the game focuses on where the two competing nations have overlapping territories. As a result, for instance, in India during one war, 10-15 fronts are generated. This will change. The game will be able to recognize when such created fronts are close to each other and will connect them.
  2. The movements of the army will also be fixed. They will no longer teleport, which currently happens when the troops have to move through territory inaccessible to them. In such situations, they will instead gain the status of expelled armies, which will allow them to march through enemy and neutral regions. Before joining the front, they will have to regroup in a friendly command center.
  3. There will also be an option to make pacts, where nations can give access to their territories to the armies of other countries.
  4. We can also expect improvements in elements such as military organization, supply, morale, or user interface.
