Today, Darkest Dungeon II’s newest downloadable content, Inhuman Bondage, along with the free Kingdoms mode, are being launched on Xbox Series X|S. Earlier this year, Red Hook Studios rolled out these updates for the roguelike journey of the damned on Steam and PlayStation consoles.

Players who own Xbox consoles are looking forward to getting a chance to play Kingdoms, an entirely fresh thematic game mode being added to Darkest Dungeon II as a complimentary update. This new mode, Kingdoms, offers a dramatically altered game design and serves as a complementary gameplay experience to the existing Confessions mode. In Hunger of the Beast Clan, the inaugural module among three planned, players are challenged with safeguarding the realm against invasions from newly designed enemy factions.

Introducing a fresh character for gameplay and a novel mini-region in the latest update: The Abomination, a solitary alchemist with distinctive trinkets, personal equipment, color schemes, weapon sets, and a fully narrated backstory complete with playable flashback scenes. The Abomination’s unique combat feature allows him to metamorphose into a terrifying beast – at the cost of escalating tension! Venture into the subterranean Catacombs, an ancient and abandoned mini-region, to confront a noxious, dripping menace. This high-stakes, high-reward area introduces new slime-covered adversaries and items to challenge both the original Confessions mode and Kingdoms, offering diversity and difficulty.
