In the latest episode of Ghosts in 2025, Trevor made a significant blunder after discovering two major life changes: first, he discovered he was Pinkus’ (his former pants-giver) daughter Abby’s biological father. Overwhelmed by this revelation, Trevor impulsively texted an old friend from Sam’s phone, intending to disclose the information to his friend about his newfound kinship. Unfortunately, he accidentally sent it to Abby instead, causing quite a mess. I reached out to Asher Grodman for insights on his character’s less-than-perfect decision in this episode, and he explained why Trevor had no justification for such an action.
Despite the uncomfortable scenario where Trevor mistakenly sent a text to Abby using Sam’s phone, Grodman found it quite enjoyable. He relished the opportunity to portray his character, who was usually fully-clothed and in control, being at fault and showing a more vulnerable side. This was discussed during an interview for TopMob.
What I loved particularly about it was that Trevor makes a mistake, Trevor does bad.
During the interview, Trevor’s actor shared his perspective that his character had no business attempting such actions, emphasizing the challenging predicament Sam finds himself in with the ghostly inhabitants. Describing the confined universe these spirits inhabit within the manor and the part played by Rose McIver’s character in it, Asher Grodman stated:
In the interview, Trevor’s actor explained that his role was inappropriate for what he tried to do, underlining Sam’s difficult situation with the spirits. He detailed the restricted environment where these spirits reside within the manor and the function of Rose McIver’s character in this setting, Asher Grodman said:
Trevor seems to overstep his boundaries with what he’s attempting, which subtly highlights our shared limitations. This predicament leaves Sam in a challenging role as a bridge between us and reality.
Grodman cherished this decision as it offered a chance to expose the imperfections of the spirits, even using Sam at times. In the episode, McIver’s character underlined her intention not to intrude in Pinkus’ bond with his daughter by suggesting he disclose that Trevor is her biological father. However, the spirit was adamant about interfering, leading him to act independently and ultimately causing more harm while also shifting the blame onto Sam, who had made it clear about his boundaries.
Indeed, I’ve mentioned that Trevor’s error was significantly bigger and potentially devastating compared to his past mistakes, and he manipulated the situation to pin it on Sam, which is appalling. To elaborate, the actor conveyed to me:
1. “I must admit, Trevor’s blunder was far more substantial and impactful than his previous oversights, and he deceitfully tried to blame it on Sam, which is despicable.”
2. “It’s clear that Trevor’s mistake was much bigger in scale and potentially life-changing compared to his past mistakes, and he intentionally made others believe it was Sam who was at fault, which is abhorrent.”
3. “Trevor made a big mistake this time, one that dwarfs any other errors he’s made before, and he tried to pass the blame to Sam, which is unconscionable.”
4. “The magnitude of Trevor’s error was far greater than anything he’s ever done wrong previously, and he tried to make it seem like Sam was responsible, which is disgraceful.”
Sam goes above and beyond for these spirits, and since we’re all like kids, we might occasionally unintentionally hurt her. So finding Trevor making mistakes and having the chance to interact with Sam, and even building a small connection with her, seemed quite enjoyable to me.
Indeed, Trevor’s behavior was inappropriate, encroaching upon the privacy of both Pinkus and Sam. Here’s hoping that this situation will serve as a learning experience for him.
Grodman shared that it was a beneficial opportunity for McIver’s character to counteract the ghost, which led to a positive evolution in their relationship, as he put it.
It’s thrilling for me to witness Sam resisting Trevor, as it adds an extra layer of intrigue. After all, the dynamics within the house are crucial in our exploration. Interestingly, Sam had been quite accommodating until now. However, what Trevor does in this installment seems irreversible.

In essence, this event marked a significant advancement for the spirits and proved to be a valuable lesson for Trevor.
Let’s revisit the recent events: Sas experienced a life-changing incident with Joan last week. Shortly before this, Hetty’s spiritual abilities became manifest. More recently, Trevor has become a father. In Trevor’s situation, his response afterward affected several people significantly, including Abby, Pinkus, and Sam. However, it appears that he overstepped boundaries in doing so.
Indeed, Asher Grodman is correct; Trevor’s actions were not commendable. Yet, it appears that he took this experience as a teaching moment, and I am eager to witness his growth following this ordeal, given that we will continue our journey with the ghosts for at least another two seasons.
