Working on ‘Reacher’ isn’t a walk in the park, and it seems that filming ‘Neagley’ follows the same challenging path. Interestingly, production for this ‘Reacher’ spinoff started just as Season 3 of the original series was being broadcasted on the 2025 TV schedule. Now, Maria Sten, star of ‘Neagley’, has shared some insights and disclosed what she manages to do with her scarce leisure time during the shoot.
Now, we know filming Reacher is not an easy task. During my interviews with the cast, Olivier Richters told me that both he and Alan Ritchson believed that the Paulie vs. Reacher fight was “the most physically demanding thing” they’d ever done. He also revealed that they’d spend 10 to 14 hours on set per day while filming it. It sounds like Sten’s days on Neagley are long and exhausting, too, as she posted this on her Instagram story:
It was clear that working on a show set in this universe would be challenging. After all, I’ve heard tales of how much Alan Ritchson needs to eat to maintain his physique, and he doesn’t hold back when it comes to sharing anecdotes about on-set accidents. Yet, the intensity of a high-action role like Sten’s was something I hadn’t fully grasped before.

It’s surprising how little free time Sten seems to have, yet she recently made time for something as specific as shaving her legs. As a woman myself, I understand that personal grooming tasks like this can be carefully scheduled in showers due to their time-consuming nature. Therefore, it’s not hard to imagine that the actress’s routine might have been disrupted.
In spite of having minimal breaks, it turned out that she eventually found some free time for herself, allowing her to spend as much time as required on personal care, which apparently involved shaving her legs.
Initially, having no free time may seem quite surprising, but upon reflection, it becomes clear. Given that Maria Sten is top priority on Neagley’s call sheet and appears in almost every episode of the show, it follows that her schedule would be extremely busy and likely devoid of much leisure time.

Beyond merely being present on set, her job demands extensive preparation as well – memorizing lines, mastering stunt sequences, and more. The spinoff of “Reacher” has a lot to live up to, and it’s evident that Sten is putting in the effort and overtime to meet those high standards.
It’s quite likely that she’ll follow suit as well, given her consistent presence in Reacher since Season 1. Since she’s now the main character, it seems that there will be less free time, more carefully planned downtime, and making the most of small self-care moments, such as shaving your legs, will become necessary.
