is officially adding a fan-favorite Yellowstone veteran to its list of recurring guest stars.
Yellowstone alumna Piper Perabo, famous for her role as Summer Higgins in Seasons 4 and 5 of the popular neo-Western series, has confirmed her appearance in a recurring role on Grey’s Anatomy. In this new part, she will portray Jenna Gatlin, an intensely devoted mother to a 9-year-old girl named Dylan who is about to undergo high-risk brain surgery. Perabo’s debut on Grey’s Anatomy is scheduled for the episode “Papa Was a Rollin’ Stone,” airing May 1 on ABC. She will reappear in the subsequent episodes, “Love You Like a Song” and “How Do I Live,” with the latter serving as the Season 21 finale for the beloved medical drama series.
The final episodes of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 21 are set to bring significant events. As indicated by the logline, Jo and Link’s wedding day is approaching, and they have unexpected guests. Additionally, Teddy and Owen encounter a familiar figure needing medical attention, while Lucas clashes with Simone over a patient’s deteriorating health… Meanwhile, the interns eagerly anticipate moving into their second-year residency, but an ordinary day at Grey Sloan Hospital takes an unforeseen twist when a critical situation arises in the operating room, jeopardizing lives within the hospital.
Grey’s Anatomy Remains One of TV’s Biggest Shows
Since it first aired on ABC in 2005, Grey’s Anatomy has been a significant part of modern television history. The show primarily focuses on the life of Meredith Grey, portrayed by Ellen Pompeo, who is the daughter of a renowned surgeon and finds herself in the residency program at a fictional hospital in Seattle Grace. Apart from Pompeo, Grey’s Anatomy has seen a variety of star-studded actors over the years, with Chandra Wilson and James Pickens Jr. being the only original cast members, other than Pompeo herself, who have remained with the series since its debut up until the 21st season that is currently running.
It’s clear that Pompeo has no plans to depart from Grey’s Anatomy in the near future. She emphasized that leaving the show would be neither emotionally nor financially sound. In fact, Grey’s Anatomy was streamed over a billion times in 2024 alone. Leaving the series would mean relinquishing any earnings linked to her likeness to the studios and streaming platforms. Pompeo expressed that it doesn’t make sense for everyone else to capitalize on her hard work, and she wants to maintain a grateful attitude towards the show because it holds significant emotional value for many people.
Right now, you can stream “Grey’s Anatomy” on Netflix. Each new episode airs every Thursday night on ABC, with the 21st season finale set for May 15th.
