‘Emily in Paris’ Season 5 to Film in Rome in May With Full Cast Back, Including Lucas Bravo, Lucien Laviscount and Eugenio Franceschini

In the eagerly awaited fifth season of “Emily in Paris,” played by Lily Collins’ character Emily Cooper, we’ll find her enjoying the high life in Rome alongside her Italian boyfriend Marcello. However, not all of it will be spent there – production for this season of the popular romantic comedy, created by Darren Star, is set to begin in Rome in May, with a move to Paris scheduled for later in the summer.

In 2025, Netflix will debut Season 5, where Emily (Lily Collins) may find herself in a wealth of romantic entanglements. This season promises to reunite her with her on-again, off-again suitors – the seductive French chef, Gabriel (Lucas Bravo), and the charming Brit, Alfie (Lucien Laviscount). Furthermore, she’ll encounter a new romantic interest, Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini) from Italy.

Season 5 of the Netflix series, set to air in 2025, appears poised to fill Emily (Lily Collins)’s love life with plenty of options. The season will bring back her former lovers – the alluring French chef, Gabriel (Lucas Bravo), and the captivating Brit, Alfie (Lucien Laviscount). Additionally, a new Italian man, Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini), is set to enter Emily’s romantic landscape.

The upcoming production will feature a blend of settings in Rome and France. Notably, key French actors from the previous cast will reappear. This includes Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu portraying Sylvie Grateau, Collins’ stylish and unbothered superior; Samuel Arnold as Julien; Bruno Gouery as Luc; William Abadie as Antoine Lambert; and Ashley Park as Mindy Chen, Emily’s closest friend.

The new production will combine scenes in Rome and France. Significantly, many of the French actors from before are set to return. Among them is Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu playing Sylvie Grateau, Collins’ fashionable and carefree superior; Samuel Arnold as Julien; Bruno Gouery as Luc; William Abadie as Antoine Lambert; and Ashley Park as Emily’s good friend Mindy Chen.

As a devoted cinephile, I’m excitedly awaiting Season 5, where the narrative unfurls its secrets. In my personal viewing experience, the storyline resumes mere days after the heart-wrenching finale of Season 4, with Emily finding solace in a captivating Roman apartment, serving as the base for Agence Grateau’s Italian branch. Alfie, our beloved character, has moved on, embarking on a new relationship, leaving Emily to grapple with her feelings for Gabriel, who was chosen over him. However, Emily’s heart is restless; she tires of Gabriel’s unclear bond with Camille and his indecisiveness, leading her to cast romantic glances at Marcello Muratori, the charismatic heir of a cashmere empire in the idyllic yet fictional village of Solitano, nestled near Rome. The final scene of Season 4 leaves us on tenterhooks as Gabriel, struck by an epiphany, makes a dramatic entrance at Emily’s doorstep in Rome, having discovered her new address.

Towards the end of last year, Bravo drew attention with his comments about his character Gabriel in “Emily in Paris.” During an interview for Melanie Laurent’s “Freedom,” where he portrays a notorious French gangster, Bravo shared with IndieWire that his “Emily in Paris” character had been “transformed into guacamole” over time. He explained, “The ‘sexy chef’ was a significant part of me in Season 1, but we grew increasingly apart as the seasons progressed due to the choices he makes and the paths they guide him towards. I’ve never felt so disconnected from him.

Bravo and Gabriel’s Michelin-starred restaurant will make a comeback for the new season that is being penned now, as reported. The actor has seen his career soar over the past three years due to “Emily in Paris,” landing roles in films like “Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris,” “Tickets to Paradise,” “The Honeymoon,” “Freedom,” and the erotic film “The Balconettes” with Noemie Merlant. However, not all original cast members will be back; Camille Razat, who portrayed the antagonist Camille in the first four seasons, is not expected to return for the upcoming season.

The fifth season of “Emily in Paris” is overseen by executive producers Tony Hernandez, Lilly Burns, Andrew Fleming, Stephen Brown, Alison Brown, Robin Schiff, Grant Sloss, and Joe Murphy. This series is jointly produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, Darren Star Productions, and Jax Media.

The influence of the show “Emily in Paris” on both pop culture and soft power has been so significant that French President Emmanuel Macron expressed his intention to work hard to keep the series within France, as he stated during an interview with EbMaster last October. This statement sparked a playful disagreement between President Macron and Rome mayor Roberto Gualtieri.
