In Mario Kart World, Nintendo hinted at the comeback of Rainbow Road, but it seems that this classic track will be accessible through an unexpected method.
During Nintendo Direct’s presentation on Mario Kart World, they showed off various courses and their Grand Prix mode. Toward the end of this part, the presenter hinted that if you complete all Grand Prix cups, a particular vibrant track might become available. As they mention this, an object trails a rainbow streak as it soars into the sky.
It seems Nintendo hasn’t explicitly named the track, but it appears to be referring to the legendary Rainbow Road. This iconic course from the Mario Kart series made its debut in Super Mario Kart and has been a staple in every subsequent game. Known for being one of the more challenging tracks, Rainbow Road is often found as part of a four-course cup. However, it looks like this time around, successfully completing Mario Kart World’s Grand Prix mode could earn you a run on the legendary Rainbow Road.
Mario Kart World is set to debut concurrently with the Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5th. This game will be included in a $500 package deal that includes the console, or it can also be purchased individually for $80. To ensure you don’t miss out, follow TopMob’s guide to preordering the Nintendo Switch 2 when North American preorders become available.
