‘1923’ Series Finale Draws 14 Million Viewers on Paramount+

Ever since its premiere on April 6, the final episode of “1923,” the spin-off from “Yellowstone,” has been drawing a significant number of viewers.

Based on internal streaming data from Paramount, the global audience for the final episode has reached 14 million viewers in its initial seven days of release. This figure is determined by dividing total watch time by the length of the episode. According to Paramount, this number represents a 41% increase compared to the Season 1 finale’s viewership. Additionally, the average viewership for Season 2 has climbed by 46% when compared to that of Season 1.

Previously revealed, the upcoming series on Paramount+ titled “1944” is set to be the next installment following “1883” and “1923” in the “Yellowstone” prequel lineup. The specific plot details are being kept secret for now, but we can expect it to explore how World War II influenced the Yellowstone Ranch and the Dutton family.

SPOILERS FOR “1923” AHEAD

In the final episode of “1923,” we learn that Spencer Dutton (portrayed by Brandon Sklenar) tragically loses his wife Alex (Julia Schlaepfer), yet he continues living for another 45 years while raising their son. This son, John Dutton II, is the father of the main character in “Yellowstone,” John Dutton III. By 1944, John II would have been 21 years old, suggesting that he could be a central figure in future series. It’s uncertain if Sklenar will reprise his role as Spencer in 1944; we’ll have to wait and see.
