Funcom’s anticipated MMO titled Dune: Awakening, slated for PC release this year, has been meticulously developed. To give players a sneak peek and early access to the game, they have launched the Character Creator & Benchmark Mode. This feature allows players to design their character in advance, which can later be used when the game launches. As a bonus, each saved character will receive a special code for an exclusive in-game reward – The Frameblade weapon.
In February 2025, the creators and distributors officially set the game’s launch for May 10th, 2025, with further details about its release on PlayStation and Xbox platforms to be shared soon. Funcom has shared a pre-livestream update via their official social media outlets about Dune: Awakening, which will air on Twitch and YouTube later.

On February 20th, 2025, Funcom unveiled the launch date for their upcoming MMO Dune: Awakening, set to debut on May 10th, 2025, exclusively on Steam for PC. This revelation also hinted at the imminent availability of pre-orders for the PC version. Pre-ordering the game will grant players a special reward – the Terrarium of Muad’Dib decoration. However, in a subsequent announcement, the developer postponed the game’s release.
On April 15th, 2025, Funcom shared through their social media platforms that the release of Dune: Awakening has been moved from May 10th to June 10th, 2025. This change won’t affect pre-orders since players now have an additional month to reserve their copies in advance. The team stated that this delay provides them with the necessary time to implement improvements aimed at enhancing gameplay quality right from the start.
Funcom has revealed that the early access launch, which they’re calling ““head start”“, will commence on 5th June 2025. A major “beta testing weekend” is expected to take place prior to this, inviting players to get involved. As of now, this beta event is slated for May 2025, but specific details regarding how to participate and the exact dates and times are yet to be released.
